My people (Tsalagi-Cherokee and other 'Native Americans') are not of Spanish descent. Our roots go back thousands of years to ancient Asia. Although we have tan skin our facial features are much different and we are TALL.

Approximately 78% of Mexicans are actually of Spanish (White European) and Native-Amerindian ancestry, and are otherwise known as Mestizos. Approximately 22% of Mexicans are Amer-indian and descended from groups such as the Toltec, Olmec, Izapa, Teotihuacan, Maya, Zapotec, Mixtec, Huaxtec, Purepecha, and Mexica (Aztec).
It is likely that the ancestors of the Native American Indian tribes and the Mexican Native Amer-indian tribes migrated to the continent at approximately the same time some 40,000 ago over the no longer existing land bridge which connected the Asiatic continent to this one. Many stayed in the present day United States; the rest made their way to modern day Mexico. The desert land separating the U.S. and Mexico was likely forested during that time period.
Natives of both Mexico and the United States ultimately owe their existance to a large band of nomadic Siberians, a particularly difficult and bitter pill to swallow for many of those who believe that the southwest United States is their beloved, but mythical Aztlan.

I can sure tell the difference. It's hard to explain, I think if you grew up around either Mexicans or Natives you would be able to tell the difference. Being Native, growing up on the reservation, I would say that it is hard to tell different Asian people apart, or black people. No offence, but I just never grew up around those people so it's harder for me to tell the people apart because they all look the same to me! lol it's crazy.
Also, I would not had rather have grown up any place else, than the rez. And, not all of us 'dream to have everything that a white man has' Sure we want to succeed just as much as the next person, but I would not say that we want to be like white people. I don't know of any Natives who would say that

Mexicans are citizens of Mexico. These citizens include both Native Americans and boat people like you. The difference is that these people arrived even before the Mayflower. Their ancestors came from Spain and did almost as much damage to the First Nations and the environment as the boat people from the rest of Europe did to what became the eastern states. The boat people from the USA and the Hispanics joined together to screw up Texas,New Mexico,Arizona and California. By the way the First Nations didn't have to cross any borders, they were already there and it sure as hell wasn't our idea to create ghettos called reservations. What is the difference between First Nations and Mexicans? My ancestors walked to this country yours travelled by ships. Your forefathers obviously travelled by steerage.

The term Native American covers various groups of people covering all of North America. That includes Canada, US and Mexico. And then there are the Native Americans from the Central and South Americas. Go to your library someday and look it up.

Locked up? What are you talking about?
Perhaps back 4 or 5 generations, that was the case to some extent. However, many today have put to good use the areas that were setup for them a long time ago. They have formed their own communities, which are free of federal jurisdiction. In other words, it's like stepping into another country. It's their choice to remain there. These "communities" have the advantage now.

One is a citizen of Mexico and entitled to the rights and privileges of a citizen of Mexico, like the right to live and go to school there, preference to jobs there, the ability to buy land on the coastline, and the abililty to hold public office, etc. The other isn't.
The other is a citizen of the United States with the rights and privileges of a citizen of the United States, including the right to live work and go to school there, and use benefits of the United States. The other isn't.
