The Star's not the must reputable news source around, so anything you read in it is probably nonsense. Especially if it's the only source that has reported this. Copies of it on other sites don't mean that other people have written on it.

I'd venture a guess that 80% of Christians are on neither side, or maybe lean towards Israel. I found it kinda worrisome that the Hezbollah said they would fight "down to the last Lebanese citizen."

i think the real question is:
with the war on terror, why does the us government allow lebanon to harbor terrorist organizations? they always have. they harbored the plo and are now harboring hezzbala.
both organizations were perpetrating terrorism from lebanon while there.
however i do think the us should allow israel to wipe them out. the us is spread out to thin already and since the terrorists are against israel, israel should pick up more of the fight. i think it's a shame that israel wasn't allowed to wipe out the plo. i fear the same will be the case here. they won't be allowed to wipe out hezzbala.
but the end result will be the same. lebanon will continue to harbor terrorist organizations.
