Is there a fine line between mental illness and demon possession?
The bible speaks about Jesus exorcising demons!

yes there is such a thing, but it goes far beyond the mental, as when a person exibhits the impossible. there have been reports of people actually being thrown across a room, off their feet.. the mere human body has no such ability. this instance was later confirmed and cast out by a man of God., the demon possesed can be healed of their ailment and the mentally ill cannot.

Yes, I believe in it. Yes, there can be a fine line between them, fine enough that mental illness is sometimes assumed to be possession, and vice-versa. Some modern Bible translations even use the term "mental illness" instead of demon possession. One key difference is if the patient demonstrates supernatural or extra-natural knowledge (such as clairvoyance). No form of mental illness can endow additional knowledge, but demonic possession can.

Demons don't exist. Nor does Satan. Satan is a made up scapegoat. Men needed someone to blame things on. All evil on earth comes from man himself. The problem is many men don't have the nads to admit it. If someone
behaves in a strange manner, they probably have a mental or physical problem. It's 2006, not 1606...

I feel that god protects us from this. He knew that he was leaving this earth and he did warn us that Wow to the Earth for satan has been thrown down upon you. This meant that satan and his demons are here to cause all kind of havoc upon this earth, while I feel that God does protect us, I also, feel that some people can get so far away from God that they can be attacked by satan or his demons. satan comes to steal. Kill and Destroy,and this would be attacking the body, the mind, anything he can do to hurt us, since we are God's people and he knows his time is short upon this earth. Soon God will take his people and destroy satan and his demons and all the bad!

demon possession is real, a work of the devil.i think it's not a mental disorder.though the devil can use the mentally troubled people for him to possess,but then the demon possession is really caused by the devil

The Catholic Church does...albeit very rare in true cases.
Cases are investigated for the possiblity of mental illness before it is decided to proceed with an exorcism.

Yes, definitely! If you have the Holy Spirit, you have the power and authority to cast those demons out.

Yes, I believe it is highly possible. No, I dont use the bible as a reference...but there have been documented cases in the past.

If there is such a thing, starrwoode is possessed.Her answers are foul of hatred and spite. she has no remorse for those she hearts.You mite say she is the Wicked Witch of the west.And should be reported.

I do, a Christian cant be possessed, but he can be oppressed. A non Christian can be possessed. It is in the bible and is relevant today.
