I am 100% sure i mailed them to the right address! How long does it take before they distribute letters? Are they allowed to hold his letters???

Usually, for almost all branches bootcamps, they have a perios where they need to break us young men down. They need to show us what's it's gonna be like to not see friends and loved ones for a while.

I would expect that he might get you letters in a couple more weeks. It just so happens my brother in law is a drill sargeant in the Marines at Camp Pendleton so maybe he's screaming at your bf right now. I could ask him tomorrow maybe about the mail situation.

On another topic, make sure to be really supportive for your bf because my brother in law makes some recruits cry but trust me they are just playing mind games with them.

Well if he just got there it will take a while until he is out of his receiveing unit and put into his training platoon he will receive them soon. Send pictures that always helps no food he won't get it for till he gets out. Only do a couple long letters he may not have time to read them once he gets it. Its best to finish the letter you started reading than getting cut off in the middle and then be anticipating what else was going to be written throughout the day. Stay pround of him no matter what anyone else says about our beloved military.

Yes they are allowed to. I don't know how long they hold them. I know that they used to not pass them out if we "f*cked up". He'll be fine.

A little pointer for you. Don't write 10 page letter like my mom did. I 've been in the Marines for over 4 years and I just found some ole letters that my mom sent me that I never opened because they were too thick. I just wanted to sleep.

They usually keep them from having any contact from the outside world for the first couple of weeks to desensitize them and mold them out of the civilian world. It's a normal military procedure. Unless you get them back from the post office for some reason, I wouldn't worry. He will get them soon.
