It depends on what you call harrassment. It's a free country, and people have the right to share thier religion to others. This may be very unpleasant. For example I loathe Mormons, and Jehova's Witnesses, because they knock on my door, and other people's doors and try to hook them into thir cult (they don't realise what they are doing sometimes so don't be mean to them).
I don't like it in the least bit, but thank God it's legal to do that, so sometimes I smile and remember that they are free to share thier views, and I know that they agree with me at least that it's a free country still. It's looking like that's not going to last much longer though, because most our youth have not been taught to appreciate that, in public schools and by many parents.
So don't be a Facist and call the Police. If they are doing something Illegal, then PLEASE do me a favor and call the Police, they are taking it too far.
You must learn to say no, even though they are polite and agressive. That is your responsiblity not thiers.

Seeking justice is not a sin in any religion that I know about. In fact it could probably be said that the very essence of almost all religion is in some part a matter of actively seeking justice; that being said there may sometimes be certain matters which cannot be effectively handled by the police or any other agent of secular justice.

Go to your Pastor or Reverend. Let him know what is going on and how that you are being harassed. Go to the District Assembly and speak with the higher ups of the church that don't know what is going on. If your life is being threatened, yes, go to the police.

I would encourage going to the pastor or a trusted elder or even a trusted friend in the church first. I do not see it as a sin, however, to report crime to the police. But before you cast the first stone, you might want to check your own life. Take the log out of your own eye so that you can see clearly to take the splinter out of your neighbor's eye.

the main idea is that the church are god's people on earth.
god's people should settle their differences.
the police represent the goverment of this world(age), which is passing.
the ways of the world are passing away.
the ways of god will endure.
who do you want to settle your differences?
jesus said that people should settle their differences before the world(age) winds up throwing someone in jail.
that's the main idea of the doctrine.
however, the church has long since sold out to the world(age).

There are some nice Hypochristian responses so far.

Newsflash: According to the Bible (you know, that book you all claim to know and love...) you should not handle faith related problems through secular venues. You should be dealing with your minister or theirs.

Please, leave the police to handle real problems and do what you're supposed to do. Let the sky-daddy and his minions handle your problem like your holy book of fables tells you too.

Clarify, what religion are you talking about? What do you mean by harassment? Don't forget that Jesus gave the commission to preach the kingdom message to people of all nations, they may only be trying to fulfil their commission.
