The changes implemented in the wake of the planned terrorist attacks have been introduced as a temporary measures so for the time being there are no new rules... Quote "We hope that these measures, which are being kept under review by the government, will need to be in place for a limited period only" unquote.

Maybe in the coming days and weeks new rules will be implemented but by all accounts the ban on hand luggage will soon be relaxed.

As a previous poster said before I'm astonished there weren't restrictions on liquids before a small amount of liquid like 12 oz mixed with the right chemicals can be very volatile. Also you can still buy drinks after the security checkpoints?

"eah...abslouletly...a lot of terrorists are going to hide bombs in their DEODERANT or WATER BOTTLES."

Take some more chemistry a water bottle is plenty enough liquid to do some very extensive damage. Also you can still pack this on your checked baggage do you usually freshen up your deodarant midair? Just buy a waterbottle on the otherside of security from duty free, can probably buy deodarant too if you insist on smelling nice for the flight.

i can`t believe america would let a few people take a whole country down. i think they need to get their heads out of their cracks and open their eyes for once.
america should have been ready for this. they`re too busy worrying about oil and things that happened over 30 years ago, to stay ahead of the times and get with it!
at this point, they might as well make airplane flying illegal. because that`s what it`s coming down to.

There going to regret it
Regret it so bad
People will have greasy hair
They will die of dehydration from no water
Everyone will miss their flight
And sue the airport place
Children will cry and beg
Especially on the long flights
For water
Airports are getting stupider by the day
And travel will decrease
People will resort to cars
The ozone layer will have so many holes
From all the people using their car
The world will collaspe as it is.
Goodbye good life
Goodbye

who gives a damn about greasy hair? How would you like to be a pilot for BA or AA flying one of thosedeath traps as a job? Come on get a grip we need to save lives and these new rules will ensure that I'm certain of it. I recon that the pilots feel more safer and the passengers as well what would you rather have, clean hair or your life?

This is a F*cken mess!! The terrorist have won. We now have to take our shoes and jackets off, not carry toothpaste, mouth wash, shampoo, or hair gel.

After a few months, we'll be just like those radical Muslims, smelling up the place with no deodorant or tooth care - wearing sandals and a head scarf.

The new rules are that you cannot bring any liquids or gels on board except for baby formula and juice if you are with a baby, and prescription drugs if your name on the ticket matches the name on the bottle. I think that's it.

I think they are totally appropriate.

When we choose to travel on an airline we do surrender some of our rights in the interest of our safety.

They are inconvenient but they are right. If they bother you too much you can always choose to take a bus or train or to drive. 'Course that doesn't help very much if you are traveling overseas.

I was surprised that they didn't do more about the possibility of liquid explosions after September 11th. After seeing those guys almost succeed today, I'm willing to check the bag I would usually carry on if it means no potential terrorists can carry liquid explosives on.
