So Bush can line his pocketbook. His last term, why not right? He is a coward, lier and a disgrace to the USA. My hubby is in Iraq,I support the Troops, but not Bush! Hooah!
All the way through it says "him" but don't forget "Her" too....
Your alarm goes off; you hit the snooze and sleep for another 10 minutes.
He stays up for days on end.
-- --
You take a warm shower to help you wake up.
He goes days or weeks without running water.
-- --
You complain of a "headache", and call in sick.
He gets shot at, as others are hit, and keeps moving forward.
-- --
You put on your anti war/"don't support the troops" shirt, and go meet up with your friends.
He still fights for your right to wear that shirt.
-- --
You make sure your cell phone is in your pocket.
He clutches the cross hanging on his chain next to his dog tags.
-- --
You talk trash on your "buddies" that aren't with you.
He knows he may not see some of his buddies again.
-- --
You walk down the beach, staring at all the pretty girls.
He walks the streets, searching for insurgents and terrorists.
-- --
You complain about how hot it is.
He wears his heavy gear, not daring to take off his helmet to wipe his brow.
-- --
You go out to lunch, and complain because the restaurant got your order wrong.
He does not get to eat today.
-- --
Your maid makes your bed and washes your clothes.
He wears the same things for months, but makes sure his weapons are clean.
-- --
You go to the mall and get your hair redone.
He doesn't have time to brush his teeth today.
-- --
You are angry because your class ran 5 minutes over.
He is told he will be held an extra 2 months.
----
You call your girlfriend and set a date for that night.
He waits for the mail to see if there is a letter from home.
-- --
You hug and kiss your girlfriend, like you do everyday.
He holds his letter close and smells his love's perfume.
-- --
You roll your eyes as a baby cries.
He gets a letter with pictures of his new child, and wonders if they'll ever meet.
-- --
You criticize your government, and say that war never solves anything.
He sees the innocent tortured and killed by their own government and remembers why he is fighting.
-- --
You hear the jokes about the war, and make fun of the men like him.
He hears the gun fire and bombs.
-- --
You see only what the media wants you to see.
He sees the bodies lying around him.
-- --
You are asked to go to the store by your parents. You don't.
He does what he is told.
-- --
You stay at home and watch TV.
He takes whatever time he is given to call and write home, sleep, and eat.
-- --
You crawl into your bed, with down pillows, and try to get comfortable.
He crawls under a tank for shade and a 5 minute nap, only to be woken by gun fire.
-- --
You sit there and judge him, saying the world is a worse place because of men like him. If only there were more men like him

Let's take this point by point.
Oil: The government has handed out no-bid contracts to Halliburton and other American oil and oil infrastructure companies, essentially giving htem control of Iraqi oil.
WMD: The WMD facilities we found showed significant looting, making a terrorist strike with WMD much more likely. The reason? No security provided for the sites by the military. Why? The war was not about WMD.
I agree with you that Afghanistan is almost a nonissue, except to the Afghanis, who may resent having been bombed by the US.
Terrorism: You forget that the more who come, the more US soldiers die, the more money we spend, the more grieving parents, the more life lost overall.
War with Iran and Syria would be a terrible human tragedy possibly exceeding the tragedy of the war in Iraq. It's a good thing we bleeding heart liberals won't let you do that.
So we are in Iraq to acquire Oil and set up a war with Iran. To me, that's a big damn problem.

This question is an atypical question getting old. But, fighting the enemy is key but help supporting the Iraqi troops to maintain security and become partners is a broader picture and hopefully estabish a stabil nation over there so that the US can interact with the middle east better and have a base withing the middle east like in Quatar. US had a base in Germany to help stabilize the country after WWII and it seemed to work whay not do it to Iraq for long term benift and democracy. It's sad to see people die but again it's war mainly it's arabs/persian islam faciast killing innocent Iraqi. At any event Liberals "appear" to be heart felt people that dislike seeing death and care for the people so they want to see the US cut and run leaving a vacuum hole causing possible harsh dictatorship of Islam faciast and more death in comparison to current numbers. Self ideology of both far left and far right kills truth, equality, love, happiness, and common sense. Best wishes on the question.

Fighting the Islamo-facists in Iraq and Afghanistan keeps the terrorists busy and off balance, of course they were off balance mentally in the first place. Better the war is there than here. The murdering between Islamic sects is Stupid... that should show Liberals what they wish to reason with and befriend, murderers, killers of women and children.
Liberals don't have a clue, blindness prevents seeing. The only war they want to fight is the war they wage against the middle and the right.

Clinton was insisting on invading Iraq when they kicked out the inspectors when enough anthrax was found to kill the world 12 times over. His advisors wouldnt allow it due to him losing his popularity so he left it up to the next regime. Bush is finishing the mission.
As noted by 60 minutes, in the 90s warehouses were built throughout the USA with anthrax vaccines ect and Clinton even stated terrorist attacks were inevitable. Most politicans, included Kerry knew these facts and is why they supported the war.
Saddam was very dangerous and Bush figured if we could get rid of him and established a prosperous democracy in Iraq the other Arab countries would follow which would take power of single homcidal maniacs.

1. Why do you ask a question then decide to propose an answer from another point of view?
2. What makes you think you know what a liberal thinks?
3. All your premises are incorrect with no proof of your theories.
I am a far left liberal.
- We are in Iraq because of Bush's move, like his father was quoted as saying at the end of Gulf War 1, to establish a New World Order. Btw, we have taken their oil. Our government has admitted that on the floor of congress. Quote, '.. their oil is going to pay for the war...'
- Bush did lie about WMDs that has been proven with the 911 commission report and many witnesses have come forward from the Bush administration stating they personally told Bush the intelligence was faulty and incorrect BEFORE he went to war. Feel free to watch the interviews of these officials yourself http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/darkside/view/
You are falling for propaganda about the current WMDs myth.. how many years later...
- Getting B.Laden would be punishing the person behind the deaths of 3k USA citizens on 911. Also who said we needed to be there? I didn't. The Taliban offered on Sept 18 and 19th, 2001 to hand over B.Laden to Bush but he said NO. (pbs. org The Newshour archives Sept. 18&19th, 2001) He wanted this war in order to create the New World Order.
- Yes we are acting like terrorist when we occupy and kill 100,000s of their civilians when they had done nothing to us. Don't tell me you are one of those who believe Iraq had anything to do with 911? Read your own Republican parties 911 commission report = Iraq had nothing to do with 911. BUT NOW there are terrorist there because we occupied them.
- How are liberals stopping Bush from war with S. and Iran? Of course we don't agree with either. Because we are Christians that believe that you don't conquer nations that are not doing anything to you. You don't murder their civilians with aerial bombs because you want to control the world with a new world order.

Ignoring why we may have gone there in the first place, the reason we are still there is that our government believes it's the job of the US military to impose democracy on the Iraqi population, whether they want it or not.
I said ignoring why we went there, because your facts and attributions are pretty much wrong across the board. We went to Iraq because Bush said that Saddam had nuclear weapons components and bio-chemical weapons. We haven't found anything in Iraq that wasn't left over from the first Gulf War.
As far as going to oil, gas prices have doubled since the US invasion of Iraq, and oil company profits are at record highs. So, if that wasn't a reason, there's an amazing coincidence.
Bottom line, we went to Iraq because Bush wanted to depose Saddam. Whether he was misinformed or lied doesn't matter. And Bush got what he wanted -- Saddam was deposed.
The relevant question is what are we still doing there, other than making half the country angry, and costing the lives of thousands of American troops and spending billions of dollars. What benefits does the US expect to get from the continued occupation, and are any of them likely in the next decade?
Those are the questions that should be being asked. Because the question of why we are still in Iraq has nothing to do with why we went to Iraq in the first place.

According to the conservatives, we went over to Iraq to kill the evil ones. Well according to our definition of evil, they are almost all evil. So now what? Do we return to a different time and murder all the men?
I don't think our institutions can handle that kind of solution to our problems with the Iraqi, Iran, Syrian, Palestinian the North Korean and so on. So what the hell are we doing trying to sort out the bad from the good people?
Did you read history at all? What good did it do for the Romans to kill Christians. Spain killed and robbed American Indians of their gold and other finery's and what did that do for the Spaniards. Do they have an Empire now? The Dutch built a mighty fleet of warships during the Napoleonic Wars, and fought other people all over the seas, but did that make them the good people they are today? Are they a major world sea power now? The Chinese made there famous Wall, but it did not stop the invaders from taking China.
Simplistic ideas that rely on guns and walls to solve our problems are not going to carry us into the future. "If you live by the gun, you die by the gun." We must solve are problems within a framework of peace. If we are peaceful people, then we must lead like peaceful people, peacefully.
We have the right to defend ourselves, but we do not have the right kill, imprison and harm other people based on our own simplistic need for safety and glory.

May I ask what WMD? There is not any WMD. There has not been any WMD for 10 years. We have not taken any Iraqi oil because the insurgents have effectively shut down production (which was suppose to pay for this mistake). Osama is not in Afghanistan but in Pakistan.
This whole thing is a fiction created by W to increase the power of the presidency. That has been the hidden agenda from the beginning. If you believe anything else, then you are just one of the masses that they have managed to dupe. I feel sorry for you.
