its adrenaline. and yes its normal for someone to think about death. anyone who hasn't wondered about such things is probably not a normal human being. Don't worry about it kid, live your life to the fullest while your 16 because its all uphill from there. but don't worry life is full of both highs and lows and you gotta understand and appreciate both.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT

"Death is not extinguishing the light; it is putting out the lamp because dawn has come." --Rabindranath Tagore

"Death is for the living and not for the dead." --Floyd McClure in Gates of Heaven

"...when we finally know we are dying, and all other sentient beings are dying with us, we start to have a burning, almost heartbreaking sense of the fragility and preciousness of each moment and each being, and from this can grow a deep, clear, limitless compassion for all beings." --Sogyal Rinpoche

"Death row is a state of mind." --Doris Ann Foster

On the plus side, death is one of the few things that can be done just as easily lying down. ~ Woody Allen

All things end, sooner or later, all that we can change is the manner of it. ~ Ross Mulders

The most important thing I learned on Tralfamadore was that when a person dies he only appears to die. He is still very much alive in the past, so it is very silly for people to cry at his funeral. All moments, past, present and future, always have existed, always will exist. The Tralfamadorians can look at all the different moments just that way we can look at a stretch of the Rocky Mountains, for instance. They can see how permanent all the moments are, and they can look at any moment that interests them. It is just an illusion we have here on Earth that one moment follows another one, like beads on a string, and that once a moment is gone it is gone forever. --Kurt Vonnegut, Slaughterhouse-Five

Now he has departed from this strange world a little ahead of me. That means nothing. People like us, who believe in physics, know that the distinction between past, present, and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion. --Albert Einstein

"We do not mourn the loss of those who die fufilling their destinies" --Forestmaster from the Dragonlance Saga

"Life is but a passing dream, but the death that follows is eternal" --Seymour Guado from Final Fantasy X [1]

It’s not that I’m afraid of death...I’m just afraid of the pain that usully accompanies it. - Unknown

it is a normal phase, you will actually have thoughts like this from time to time for the next 10 years. If you ever actually wanted to take the next step and hold an object or put yourself in a position to die, then you actually are suicidal. I would then recommend you immediately call 911 or check yourself into an urgent care faciliity before you mental capacity overwhelms your physical capabilities to stop the projected death

Curiosity about death is normal. How it will feel totally depends on how your time ends. If you die in a car crash, it could be excrutiatingly painful, if you drown, it may seem like it is taking forever.

I almost died while in a coma and I can tell you I felt nothing and thought nothing. When I die, I would really like to go that way or in my sleep or on the operating table. I know that none of those ways will involve pain nor allow me time to live over my regrets.

It's somewhat normal just don't try to commit suicide just to find out. Don't worry one day you'll have all the answers to your questions about death. That will be when it's finally your time... besides you're still young to die. Enjoy life! Life is good!

no your not crazy, i think it's totally normal. I'm 17 and i've thought about these kinds of things too. I attempted once but now i realize it's stupid and a waste. As long as your not trying to commit suicide or anything like that than there isn't anything wrong with you.

I feel that same exact way, Im 19. I think it may be hidden deep inside us that we may very well fear death and we think about it because we want to know how it might feel. I dont think you are crazy though just curious I guess. Now unless you start wanting to cause self mutulation then you just might be troubled, then seek help. Hope this helps.

Death is not a healthy obsession, either your own mortality or that of others.
Its best to concentrate on life, celebrating it and enjoying it.
However death is the only certainty in life.
But if you go to a movie, do you just wonder about when it will finish or enjoy the moment and the movie?
So live, death will happen someday, who knows when, but dont waste your life worrying about it.
