I have also heard that Vicks Vapor rub works great. Also heard that soaking your nails in Listerine is supposed to work too.

Vinegar.
Here is an excerpt from the page link below.
"Medicine for toe nail fungus can be very costly, but you can use one part vinegar to one part warm water and soak your feet.
Another reader writes: My daughter had toe nail fungus, causing the nail to grow up instead of out, like it should. I started putting a few drops of white vinegar on it several times a day. Her nail is almost normal again!"

Only a six month course of an oral fungicide can cure a toenail fungus infection. No over the counter medicine does anything.

Get your Granny to soak her infected nail in straight clorine bleach for 10 minutes twice a day and it will be dead in two weeks, or shorter time. Guaranteed. It worked for this Granny. Cheap too.
Good luck

I work part-time for a foot doctor and believe it or not, they suggest vicks vapo rub for fungus. The OTC products don't really work and the prescription Lamisil takes many months and isn't really guaranteed, plus could do liver damage. At your granny's age, I wouldn't suggest using it.

I had to go to a foot specialist for an injury and asked him about that very thing, he said lamsil can cause problems and heard that VICKS applied to the surface of the nail has been very affective.
