Immigration Act of 1965

In 1965, President Lyndon Johnson signed a bill that has dramatically changed the method by which immigrants are admitted to America. This bill is the Immigration Act of 1965. This act, also known as the Hart-Cellar Act [1], not only allows more individuals from third world countries to enter the US (including Asians, who have traditionally been hindered from entering America), but also entails a separate quota for refugees. [2] Under the Act, 170,000 immigrants from the Eastern Hemisphere are granted residency, with no more than 20,000 per country. Wrong race. We only want to give a pass to the Mexicans. So, if you can get on a plane and fly to Mexico (don't drink the water) then sneak across the border, you just might get in with a "get out of jail free" card.
Really, good luck. I am sure that most people have a hard time getting in. Oh wait, the Saudis are being let with little to no checks right now. That may be your way in.

Unless you live in a country that has no government, or some other extreme situation, you're going to have a hard time. It certainly isn't fair, but that's the way it is right now.

When my friend from Ireland wanted to get his work visa, he was told less than 1% of applicants (from Ireland) actually received them.

We'll take all sorts of criminals in from Somolia and other countries though. Heck yeah!

Because they aren't as easy to manipulate as the current crop of illegals sneaking in from our southern border.

Because they won't work for slave wages which is of absolutely no benefit to Bush and his big business cronies.

Because while Bush and Tony Blair are friends, they aren't in bed together for the North American Union like Bush and Fox are.

I could go on and on.....

Because they do it legally. (I'm just kidding!) Maybe because Europeans are happy in their countries. And what does being Christian or white have to do with you getting in the U.S?
