And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:The tree of life was also in the mist of the garden. God said this in Gen3(22)Lest he put forth his hand . They had a chance to eat of the tree of life which resembles Christ.

First, the requisite: They didn't actually exist. The story was an allegorical tale simply designed to excuse why humans are imperfect because it is so difficult to simply accept that we did not evolve to be perfect (such a thing would be impossible -- evolution is an ever-changing target, after all).

Now, the analysis. Adam and Eve are the archetypical 'first man and woman' [okay, Eve wasn't first, Lilith was, but she told God to get lost and she was outcast, so God replaced her with Eve... anyways...]. Because the story is telling the origins of humanity's imperfections, it required that the first humans be the cause (otherwise, perfection would be something attainable for a human, and clearly this is impossible). Because humanity never wants to admit its own fault in its own imperfections, a 'tempter' was convienantly provided.

So, to the question -- what could they have done to repent? Answer: Nothing. The story would have made no sense in any way if they had. If they had, the fall from grace would have been temporary, the tempter would have been defeated, and humanity would have been restored to perfection. Since humans clearly are not perfect, the story would have made no sense if Adam and Eve had repented.

Adam and Eve together is an allegory for mankind. And mankind has always had a choice to repent, but so far hasn't chosen to do so. Man still prefers to remain in the world of the dead rather then partake of the rewards awaiting him in the world of the Living.

The Bible doesn't clearly state this at all.

After they sinned, Adam and Eve lived under the certain domination of Satan, so they were totally unable to repent (change their ways).

They were probably very sorry for their sin, but repentance means to change for the better, to mend your ways, and since Satan was in control, that would be impossible, forever, without divine assistance.

God had to send his son to die at Satan's hands (Satan used the Jews and Romans to do it).

That totally illegal and immoral act resulted in Satan losing all his power over mankind.

Mankind was then free to apologize for their sins and truly repent.

God was now able to forgive.

They could of asked for forgiveness or said that they were sorry. But they didn't.

They may have been forgiven, but that doesn't mean that they wouldn't be punished. According to biblical accounts, they both disobeyed God, in His eyes. It was a test, and they failed.

They NEVER repented: Read Gen 3:12- Adam blamed God for putting Eve w/ him & he also blame Eve for giving him the fruit.

Eve blamed the serpent.

They didn't repent. They blamed & finger-pointed.

Offerings of burnt animals, prayers and toiling for their livelihood is one form of repentance in the Jewish tradition. Religions follow those practices by offering sacrifices of the mass, services and other ceremonies. That is why for every service done there is a part that the congregation would all ask for forgiveness of sins.
Actually, we do not need to do those ritualized things at present specially if in our lives, we tried our best to follow the golden rule of human society. Now we no longer burn animals, instead, we light candles or burn incense but they are more observable as petition or celebration of various occassions.

Adam and Eve did have a choice. It was to eat the fruit or not and they chose to eat. Because they chose to eat is why we have a choice today. If they obeyed God from the begining then we would not have a choice today we would just obey God like mindless droans. Adam and Eve's choice gave us the choice we have and a chance to be with God in heaven. They did repent but thier sin was all a part of Gods divine plan.

God made Adam and Eve, not the gay cowboys named Adam and Steve. Amen and praise the lord.

So, it sounds like you have a little repenting problem yourself. Maybe if just opened a little can of whoopass on you, it would help you be a little more humble.

According to some of the Apocryphal works to appear in recent times;

[Adam & Eve, ch64]
6. And the angel said unto Adam and Eve, "God says to you that ye have not strength to fast until death; eat therefore, and strengthen your bodies; for ye are now animal flesh, that cannot subsist without food and drink."
7. And Adam and Eve took the figs and began to eat of them. But God had put into them a mixture of savoury bread and blood.
8. Then the angel went from Adam and Eve, who ate of the figs until they had satisfied their hunger. Then they put by what remained; but by the power of God, the figs became full as before, because God blessed them.
9. After this, Adam and Eve arose, and prayed with a joyful heart and renewed strength, and praised and rejoiced abundantly the whole of that night. And this was the end of the eighty-third day.
[Adam and Eve, ch65]
1. And when it was day, they rose and prayed, after their custom, and then went out of the cave.
2. But as they felt great trouble from the food they had eaten, and to which they were not used, they went about in the cave saying to each other:-
3. "What has happened to us through eating, that this pain should have come upon us? Woe be to us, we shall die! Better for us to have died than to have eaten; and to have kept out bodies pure, than to have defiled them with food."
4. Then Adam said to Eve, "This pain did not come to us in the garden, neither did we eat such bad food there. Thinkest thou, O Eve, that God will plague us through the food that is in us, or that our inwards will come out; or that God means to kill us with this pain before He had fulfilled His promise to us?"
5. Then Adam besought the Lord and said, "O Lord, let us not perish through the food we have eaten. O Lord, smite us not; but deal with us according to Thy great mercy, and forsake us not until the day of the promise Thou hast made us."
6. Then God looked upon them and at once fitted them for eating food; as unto this day; so that they should not perish.

This means, simply, that God did not give Adam and Eve stomachs and other digestive organs until the 84th day, long after the banishment from the Garden.

Given that, all Adam and Eve would have had to do is spit out the Fruit of Knowledge, since they couldn't have done anything with it before this point.

i don't know where you are talking about that is so clear, but i'm guessing that if they had confessed instead of lying and then blaming eachother that they would have been forgiven. adam and eve didn't repent and didn't try to turn back to god, they hid.
