To soothe the throat you might want to try some cough lozenges (cough drops) or you could buy some soluable aspirin (if you are not allergic) and dissolve that and gargle it in your throat.

To make sure the swallowing is going okay:

Swallow some bread and see if that goes down okay.
Other thing to try is some fizzy soft drink.

If you are having difficulty swallowing, you might consider seeing your doctor. Sometimes people actually have little pouches or membranes or other things crossing their gullet that make it hard to swallow. Sometimes it's hard to swallow because your throat is inflamed from coughing or a viral infection.

Try some simple things, and if it is really troubling you go to a doctor.

Chloroseptic is an over the counter medication for sore throats. That would probably help the irritation. Your medication probably started to dissolve before you got it down, and that is why it is irritated. It should go away by itself. Just don't swallow wrong again.....

There are pill grinders out there. Some people cannot swallow pills at all. I think that you should try that, but maybe some tea or something hot for now will do the trick.

Most can be crushed into applesauce or opened without issue. Search the drug online Web MD and others should be able to tell you if it's ok to crush or open the pill without concerns for over dosage.

Most phramacies will also be able to tell you with a qucik call to any 24 store.

I'd suggest calling the pharmacy before taking it again, it is possible you are allergic to the medication.
