The govt is allowing the illegals in for the employers.
When my great-granddaddy came here, they made it easy and legal, Today, they make it easy and illegal. Whatever suits business most, that's what we'll get. Then, they throw in divide and conquer tactics to distract people.

They are actually starting to pass out criminal charges, granted it has to be egregious. In addition, previously when they told an employer that a SS # didn't match, at the same time they said that the employer might not legally be able to discharge someone just as a result of that letter. Now they have changed that slightly to say that the letter can be taken as evidence of 'knowing hiring' of an illegal, and I saw an opinion today that said once the employer has had 60 days to check if there was a typo and to let the employee try to sort it out with SS, that should be it.
Clear guidelines make it easier to prosecute. However, many employers hire through ''employment contractors" so the contractor is the one responsible for checking SS#'s. Then ICE has to go after the contractor, if anyone. Recently they went after someone who had had like 180 SS # rejections in a month, and he is facing 20 years and seizure of the building from which he ran the business.
Still, it feels like we are not reaching the top of the food chain, so to speak.

I am a Republican but don't really suppport the Bush administration on Illegal immigration. The House understand what most Americans want, but the Senate doesn't care as long as they get reelected. I think there should be tougher fines/imprisonment for people who hire illegal aliens. But as you may have saw on the news a couple months ago, with all the sweeps of known companies that hire illegal aliens.

Empolyers need to be fined and prison time. The government cracks down on a few, to make it look like they are really doing something. The government ties the hand of the police and the border patrol.

There is no doubt that the employers are the ones at fault for this epidemic, the only reason they come here is for the $, the majority go back home or send most of their $ back home to help their families back home. If these American companies (large and small) would stop hiring them, I'm 99% sure they would not come its just common sense.

Nothing It's all in the books. Laws have been past but they have yet to be enforce. The Agents want to enforce the laws but it's the politics that get in the way of the law.

I don't know, but they need to be punished.... Severely. If we would enforce laws on the employers, this issue would be cleared up in a hurry.

There is a law. http://www.noillegals.com/Hlaws.htm
You don't hear it everyday but ICE has today arrested 41 working at a fair.

It is also hard for an employer to know if they are illegal if that they have a stolen Social Security Number.
