In other words, could presenting a different view of the world to a child, who's brain in is blank and undeveloped promote immortality? Has this ever been done? Maybe this is the secret, the brain's will to live.

In a remote location, like a tropical island. No contact with the outside world. I think the brain has untapped abilities, if at least one person can do extremely large equations in side their head for instance, then doesn't that prove we are capable of more?
Even if it wasn't possible, what if you could find a way, perhaps you are only too familiar with the presented limits of life?

What? Are you serious? You think we die only because we believe death is inevitable? Death in this life is certain. Eternal life is certain. Where you spend it is up to you.

Um, no...as you age, you change physically becaues your body just breaks down after a while. Do bears think about "immortality"? No. Do they die? Yes. If a car hits you at 100 mph, chances are, you're going to die, no matter what. The brain's will to live has nothing to do with how long you will live. We will all die. Me. You. Everyone who is reading this answer now. We cannot trick ourselves into living forever. I don't want to live forever, either. LIfe would suck. You would probably end up going to 500 funerals and living through a hundred or so wars. I hope I die at an average, decent old age.

As I understand how things work, it won't work. The kid will die at some point.
I'm a Christian, so I may be preset on that opinion, but I think I'm right about it. You cannot brainwash anyone into thinking they are immortal, and have immoratlity as the result.
In an odd corelation to your question. You can teach a child that they will live forever and teach the truth at the same time by bringing the child to Christ; Where the promise is truly immortality.

Forget the naysayers.
The secret is, you gotta convince YOURSELF so that you can be an example to the child. This has the convenient side effect of making you immortal too.

It all comes down to whether or not you think that some ideas are inborn, or whether the mind isa blank slate. You could easily manipulate a child's thinking to your own desire, but outside influences would cause them to question what they've learned. Any experiment of this sort is highly unethical or course.

should I state the obvious? perhaps it is't so obvious after all, since no one has directly referenced the comparison.
you seem to be making a comparison to "raising children in church". or am I reading in just waaaay too much? to me, what you propose is exactly the same as teaching a child to believe in god/jesus/etc.
I also find remarks like "the child will figure it out" and others to be absolutely hilarious - the irony, it's killing me. wow.

the child would get himself/herself killed. That's what would happen. The brain can think what it wants. You jump off a 20 story tall buliding and go splat, your body won't care WHAT your BRAIN believes.

The child will one day meet death be it from friend, family member, or pet. Then what? This will not work! You cannot not brain wash someone because one day they will find the truth somewhere! And who will he/she end up hating?

The child would have to be raised in isolation, because death is all around us. Then you would have to explain it.
It is the natural way of the world, my Dear.........
