Wear arch supports for about 6 months. Anyway, the Air Force didn't reject flat feet during the Viet Nam war. Anyone who had flat feet had to wear arch supports to help their feet adjust to military footwear.

Well the AF is weak. I have flat feet and I joined the Marines so I don't think you'll have a problem. The doc that decides if they are too flat is the same doc that examines everyone else.

It depends on the Career field, if you want to be a Pilot or AF Special Forces ie Para Rescue, Combat Control etc... then No.

However, if you do a technical, administrative, or Security Forces career field then you should be fine.

I know prior Enlisted people w/ flat feet who obtained their commission.

You'll get all kinds of answeers here.. Your best bet would be to ask the airforce recruter.. I spent 22 years in the service and back then they did... Dont know any more, Sorry.. Talk to the air force about it.. Your friend from Tennessee, Retired Lt Cdr Navy...ROB

No. The air force will not admit you because if you developed problems because of your flat feet it would leave them open to liability and paying long-term health benefits to you.

Trust me i was in the army and let me tell you the army is ten times harder than the airforce all they do is sit on their ***, but anyways they will accept anyone right now . THink about it were in war they really dont care all you are is another number or body to them. They have a quota to make and if they have to lie on your application to get you in they will. Once your in your in theres no turning back. I wish you all the luck if you join and i will pray that you dont have to go to iraq. Its not fun trust me i know

yes.... you can.... as of i believe 10 to 15 years ago the armed forces started making a specialty boot for those with flat feet. they did it for people just like you or if they ever had to start another draft...not likely... but the answer to your question is yes you can...go for it

Only if you have medically diagnosed 'flat feet' that are serious enough to keep you from service.

The different services have their guidelines, but your case sounds too minimal to warrent exclusion from active service.
