Well, don't go overboard because getting an elaborate gift is going to be a bad sign because then they will think that you are too attached .... not getting a gift will make it seem like you are not interested .... so I would go with something simple and nice - maybe a candle or flowers and then a dinner and a movie

Okay male or female?? Girls are easy,men a little harder.Usually if you can find out something they are into, get something in that field.Mabe a gift card to Blockbusters etc, hey maybe you can watch the movies togther then...... Cook a dinner or make a cake...

If you intend to be more than friends with the person go for the effort like cooking dinner, followed by a candlelit dinner for the two of you with relaxing music in the background.

Well first of all... How long have you been seeing them?? Second of all how serious are you?? Third of all what do they WANT for their birthday?? I'm sure if you just ask they will give you some ideas. You need to be more specific if you want to get some good answers off of here though.

I say... you should get her 2 tickets to a concert or show that she would enjoy... tell her the catch is she has to take you!!! that way you both have an excuse to have to see eachother again, and chances are you'll have a great time!
