You sound young. Maybe you're not ready to get in the ring again just yet. That's fine, too. When you heart tells you it's okay to take a chance, you're ready again. There's nothing wrong with protecting yourself from pain. And there's nothing wrong with being single for a while. It sure does hurt to be played and it hurts to be dumped.

I'd stick with this friend of yours. He seems like a nice guy and has your best interests at heart. Tell him that you just aren't ready to get your feet wet- but that you would like to continue to see him as a friend. You feel good when you are with him. That certainly is a start.

Not all guys are players. You just have to go slowly and weed out the jerks. A tried and true friend makes a good b/f.

There are plenty of good guys out there.

Sometimes if we keep an open mind, we are able to properly judge a character. Have you heard that "love is blind"? Well, it's true when you let your heart blindly leads you into a relationship. No sense in changing the mind of someone who's fallen haed over heels blindly in love with another.

But since you are playing it safe and not commited, you have a great chance to do character-study. If you think you want to give Mr. X a chance, why don't you study him first. See if more pros than cons. If pros outlist cons give it a shot.

You may not want to be too commited at first, until you're very sure. Another thing... I believe parents' approval is also important coz (trust me with this) adults see in the guy what you may not yet see...

I hope this helps..

Hi no one can really tell you the outcome from the surgery in the future as the doctors are amazed about how far you have came. But you have to be positive and live life happily and enjoy every moment you get as i could die tomorrow or today everyone can die and will die we all live with that risk and you have just another. I think because you have survived one before you'll survive this time. Even if i am wrong dont worry about it just see what happens and look on the bright side! I hope this helps and helps you sleep well. Hope you had a great christmas

You just have to do it. Do you really want to live your life like that? Always afraid of what can or can not happen? You should just take the risk and go for it. You just have to learn the lessons from previous heartaches. When someone wants to love you, give them a chance. Love them like it was your first time. In life, you should give it your all when you love someone. If it ends, it was not meant to be. Just get back up and try again. Do not allow your previous relationship hinder you on your pursuit of happiness. Good luck to you and hope you find the right key to open your heart again.

Life brings us the good and bad---Take it as it comes.

I've had so many heartbreaks in my life, that it seems the bad outweighs the good.

BUT I keep trying because Good still exists out there.

Dont let fear hold you back, because you might lose out on something special that's waiting for you.

"Those guys" are not ALL guys---it's hard to believe but important to remember.

Our society is so free-spirited now that almost nobody feels that they need to make a commitment to anyone.

Tell them you need time to open up. Don't just give ur heart to someone. Trust them with holding ur purse, and making u food, and other simple things and eventually you can trust this person. If they are your friend, they shouldn't hurt you. Just accept the offer and take it slow.

Hi. Before I was in your case, but not really the same story. Have you tried to avoid seeing him for some time? during that time, you have have great chance to think for yourself and about the relationship with him. Lying on bed, close your eyes and Imagine how will you think and feel if he is with someone else? If he is important to your heart I am sure you will overcome yourself and your heart will beat normally and be filled fully by love. Do not think about the hole that you may fall. You will know how to buid a bridge over that hole. Good luck and best wishes.

my heart is closed also.. ive been through some rough ****, especially for only being 16, with guys. i was in a short verbal abused relationship but got out quick, ive been around shady guys and i was almost raped by my exboyfriend. yet i still go out with a smile on my face and yet my heart isnt open as i would like it do be toward guys and i tend to start to pull away.. you have to go for it, because love is the best thing and feels great, but in order to get to true love you have to go through the losers, the ones who are awesome but you know it just wont work out. even thought it might scare you to death to open up, do it in baby steps, and if its a guy that you are close to let him know that its not easy.. good luck

It is better to love and lost than to never have loved at all...With that said trust yourself. Trust that you are smart and intelligent being who is capable of determining someones character before you are taken advantage of.... Take it slow and eventually you might find yourself in a place mentally that you are more receptive....And make sure that you have healed from past hurt because it is hard to start a new relationship when you are focused on what happened in the past.
