pride so thick you need a bull dozier to get it down

It depends on how "outward" they are in their pride. One can be proud, but quiet in it. Others are more belligerent in their "self-love" Others simply refuse to acknowledge that they're anything but right in all they do, etc.
They can be frustrating, and infuriating at times, but whether or not I like em depends on the rest of their character. Being stubborn, and proud but a caring and compassionate person is still a caring and compassionate person. Friends like that I have are good friends, but I've given up trying to get them to agree that I'm never wrong. ;-) We gree to not agree.
If you're talking about a boy/girl friend, it's different. There's going to be an emotional commitment there, that precludes the "distance" one has with simple friends. What's irritating in a Pal, can be a deal breaker with a mate.

nothing wrong with pride. try it sometime.

in response to your email:

maybe that person has the right idea and doesn't want or care for your
opinion. that person is putting his/her pride before yours and that is
their choice. your mad because that person is not listening to you. oh
well, you don't know how to deal with a confident person with pride.
either go along with that person or walk away. not being a smart a**,
being honest. you said I was being "smart" but look at your comment after your question "pride so thick you need a bull dozier to get it down" you were being a smart a** and so was I. their are alot of different opinions out here. dont ask questions if you dont wanna hear the answers.,

I think that it really depends on what that person is proud about. If they are superficially proud (looks, materials, money, etc.) then that person really needs to get their reality in check. However, if that person is proud of others' accomplishments, finds pride in their own accomplishments, finds pride in helping and uplifting others then I would say that there is a person who has found "that which is joyous, eternal selfless and pure" - a Taoist saying to represent a small part of love.

Pride in general, or pride in themselves? Pride in general is another word for stubbornness, and too much pride in one's self is a front for major insecurity.

pride is a good thing but to much pride can be bad in a relationship. i have a lot of pride in my self and i dated some one with judt as much pride as me. it was hard but i really loved him. if u care enough u can break through that pride.
