I pray as often as I can. I try to pray without ceasing. I believe that every action in our lives can be a prayer offered. I too work in nursing and I try to picture every patient as Jesus. I do all for Jesus and treat each patient as I would treat Him. God hears and answers every single prayer. Even the ones we cannot find words to ask He knows. I do believe special times that we can Storm Heaven for his help.As for effectiveness I can't say but I will take and offer all the prayers and graces I can.
Peace Be With You,
Debra

You need to be thankful for the good and the bad, not just the good.I always start my prayers with a thank you and end with a thank you also. God hears all prayers whether alone or in a group. I pray all the time at least a dozen times a day, if not more.

I don't pray anywhere near as often as I should, mosltly just the formal prayers during chuch sevice. When I do feel the need, it usually gets very emotional.
It's said that God is present when groups pray for the same thing together because it's less likely that the prayer will be selfish. No congregation is going to pray thatI win the lottery so I can get full- body liposuction, change my name and move to Australia. Unless they really hate my singing.

I have to pray every day, give thanks to my Lord for everything He's given me. You said you wonder if He hears you. You cannot come to the Lord in prayer with sin. If you have sin, you must confess it first before God can hear you. The only time God hears the prayer of a sinner, is when a non-believer asks God into his heart. If you have any doubt about God hearing and answering prayer, read 1 John.

Anything that gets you closer to God is good. Muslims (not terrorists) believe that every good thing you do, in fact every aspect of your life from driving to shopping to helping a little old lady cross the street is an act of prayer.
Since it says in the Bible that God even notes the fall of a single sparrow, don't you think that God hears you? Sometimes we just don't pay attention to the answers.

I hope you don't close your eyes while you pray in the car. A recent study showed that prayer for ill people does nothing, and in fact, the groups being prayed for actually suffered more than the not prayed for group. Funny how things end up.

Since you pray while not doing anything else but driving, it is not a complete waste of time, particularly if it makes you feel better. But there is NO evidence either that there is a god, or that if there is, he/she/it has any effect on human affairs, or that if he/she/it does, that he/she/it is in the least motivated by prayer.

Tell ya what, if you get up ther before me send me a sign and let me know and if I get there before you I will send you a sign letting you know the same
