I am not sure why you wouldn't want your parents to know. Lice can happen to anybody. They often time will "jump" to clean hair. Having said that, there are lice shampoos to use from the drug store. Follow the instructions carefully as they are strong. Truthfully all people in the house should be on the look out or treated as well. Wash your bedding and clothing in hot water and dry on as high a heat as you can without ruining your clothes.
I also read for a less harsh method than the lice shampoo, is to lather and coat your head with cetaphil (a very mild facial cleanser you can also buy in drug stores). A doctor once tried to take cetaphil and re bottle it and claim it as his own invention for a mild head lice remover. He got busted on the ingredients, but the cetaphil actually does work. Probably in the same way that some people use mayonnaise. Coat the hair and scalp, dry with a hair dryer and leave it on. Under a shower cap for overnight. The way this works is to suffocate the lice and then they can be washed away the next day. Use this method for 4 weeks. Along with washing your sheets often and drying in the dryer. Here is a link and you can also google.com head lice for more information on different techniques;

I hope you are not ashamed. Lice are a part of life everywhere. Just have to deal with them! Good Luck. :)
P.s. the cetaphil method will work with mayonnaise too. Also, I sure would want my daughter to come and tell me if she had lice, so we could get it taken care of. It is nobody's fault when they get lice. You just happened to be somewhere, where those little rascals were. It is just like getting a cold. Didn't ask for it but there it is! Make yourself better and check your hair often to make sure they are gone. :)

Why can't you tell your parents? When one person in a house has it, everyone should really be treated. Also, you have to wash all the bedding, bag the pillows for a week, along with any stuffed animals you may have been in contact with, and I'd get the spray and use it on the furniture, too.
You have to use Rid or Nix shampoo and then comb out the nits with a nit comb.(It will come with the shampoo usually.)
You cannot keep this a secret! It will get worse and worse and spreads easily to others.
If, on the other hand, it is not "head" lice you have.... Well, that's a different story. Go to planned parenthood, they'll keep it confidential, and hopefully give you some meds.
Good luck!

Without your parents knowing about it?? That's not fair! They can have head lice too especially if you have it and you all live in the same house.
Tell your parents! It's not the end of the world, it's just head lice. First you need to stop at the store and get an over the counter hair treatment. Follow the directions and have your mom help you remove any and all little egg sacs. Then, you need to vacuum your entire house, change all the sheets, wash all the bedding, thoroughly clean your closets and coats, and especially clean your couches and chairs too.
If you don't tell your parents your entire house may get completely infested with lice.
My head is itchy now....

I'm more concerned that you feel like you can't go to your parents about this
Besides, if you have been home, the house and it's belongings should also be treated. Your bedding and pillows will need to be washed also.
You can buy the shampoo and other treatment products at any pharmacy, or discount store like walmart or target

You shouldn't be ashamed of having lice. IT CAN HAPPEN TO ANYONE. There are special treatments that are OTC. After doing the treatment, check your hair every day with the special comb that is used to fight lice.
If I were you I would tell my parents.

Tea Tree oil can prevent lice. I'm not sure if it will get rid of them too! If you have some, it can't hurt to try! Just know that pure tea tree oil has to be diluted before using because it is SOOO strong.
But why can't you tell your mom??? Just tell her. Mom's are supossed to be there for you, to take care of you and help you!
