Was the division of the Church a good thing?

Would you have preferred that the protestant reformation never occurred and that the church had remained united? Perhaps reform could have occurred from within. Perhaps theology would have evolved to fit the times.

Or instead, are you glad that there are more Christian denominations than anyone can count? Does this prove confusing to both Christians and non-Christians alike? Perhaps reform had been attempted and it was deemed impossible. Perhaps speaking with many voices has a way of attracting a more diverse group of followers.

Would you like to see the church reunited into one Church? What characteristics would the reconfigured church have?

Religion is nothing more than politics. Everyone interprets it their way. It will never unite as one.

God is big enough to be expressed in many ways in and out of the church system-the system created by people. The Church that Jesus is building-His Bride exists separately from the church system. There is some overlap, as in, some people that form the Church go to a church, but mostly I think confusion comes from the fact that people confuse the Church with the church system.
The division of the church - I assume you're referring to the protestant reformation was not a good thing or a bad thing, it was a thing.

Churches are like huge business conglomerates. We don't want a few controlling all the denominations much like Microsoft controlled the Windows operating system. I think that the Protestant Reformation was good. I'm not necessarily glad that there are more Christians. Because there is goodness in humans, not of any particular faith.

No. I definitely would not wish that all churches unite into one church. That's like having one person rule the world.

The protestant reformation was a necessary event. The Catholic Church had become so corrupt, it needed the "swift kick in the pants" the reformation provided to clean up its act. The Chruch got the message and did start reforming from within. Prior to the reformation, there were those who tried to clean up the church, but they were burned, hung, drowned, impailed, etc.

The question of what a re-united church would look like is somewhat irrelevant, simply because it is not going to happen in this world, but it will happen in the next.

Look at it this way would the world be better with just one country or the multiples it Knows has. Should there only be country music or what ever you want. Even God wants us to have choices, he just wants us to make the right ones.

If that's not clear enough diversity is always better.

Of course I would love to see us united as one Church again but who does not seek for us to love and serve together? We may not be one denomination but we are One in our faith of Christ. That unifies us.We must hold fast to that that we share and not allow ourselves to be divided and conquered. Just my opinion.
