While the liquid explosive concept does raise concern. perhaps it is just something put out there to distract from other more serious attempts being planned?

Is this giving them too much credit?

Pork rinds? Is this a new version of vampire we are dealing with? Get Back! I have pork rinds!!! You're going to Hell now buddy! *as you toss pork rinds at the Islamic terrorist*

Have we become so ignorant to actually believe this?

I feel that it could be a distraction. I don't think this gives them to much credit at all.

Quite the opposite; it focuses attention on the dangers, and on the fact that Britain has so many disgruntled Pakistanis living there who'd sellout the country which has fed, clothed, and educated them in much more safety than they'd have had in their own country.

I suppose it could be a distraction from the blunders and deaths in Iraq, but I do believe the Brits have stopped a serious plot.

Giving whom too much credit? I'm glad that the Brits are smart enough to catch these evil people--I don't have the same confidence in the US, though I'm sure the US will try to take some credit for catching these terrorists in England.

Too much credit to the terrorists? When you're dealing with people benighted enough to believe they'll get rewarded by god for murdering people, you're dealing with brainwashed insanity. There is no way to deal with this sort of indoctrination.

How much more serious can it get? Well, I suppose the suitcase nuclear bombs or germ warfare could be worse.

If you were old enough to remember the British politico, Enoch Powell, you'd know he's shouting from his grave, "I told you so!"
The UK has a huge problem with its immigrant muslim population--as does France and Germany--and those muslim youths are ripe for recruitment by terrorists. Their families have been 'sleepers' for decades.

We ALL must be watchful, be very observant, and not give potential terrorists the benefit of the doubt. Better safe than sorry. When I lived in England during the IRS bombings, it was automatic for everyone to notice if bags, or anything suspicious, was left behind--and we brought attention to it. We were accustomed to having our purses and bags checked out even when we went into stores or bars.

We've lived an traveled with bomb threats for years, particularly us Brits. There will always be something else planned by these psychos and most of it is for their own glorification in whatever perverted little world they live in. They achieve nothing other than 10 minutes of posthumous fame and misery for those victims families left behind. Me, I always carry a packet of pork scratchings (pork rinds) in my pocket when I travel. At least I stand a chance of making sure one of these psychos don't make it into paradise.

I thought of that today also. It could be a distraction of sorts to draw all our attention away from the real threat. I mean, who would try the same thing twice?

There is not one chance in a Zillion that this was a cover, although I have heard that the sun might not come up tomorrow.
