Mate yesterday I enrolled my daughter in Kindy for next year and started crying she grew up much to quickly I'm a working single parent and she's gone to daycare since she was 6 mnths old, you'd think seperation anxiety wouldn't be an issue.

Oh yes!
But to tell you the truth, I cried more the first day my daughter started first grade, because in kindergarten she was crying too. In first grade, she marched right in there without any separation anxiety. I was happy, but the fact that she was growing up really choked me up!

When my now 21-yr-old son started kindergarten, I remember leaving him in the little yard along with all the other kids. I walked away feeling a little emotional and teary-eyed, but I was also excited for that milestone in his little life!

Yep and my niece too! Its scary to let them go and put them in someone elses hands that you don't really know and you know its all strange and scary for them too and your job is to protect them from strange and scary! Its easier when they have older siblings that go because they are usually very excited to start then. My niece was very shy and hated being with strangers, it was a very difficult adjustment for her and she got so upset that for the first couple of weeks one of us (my sister, myself or her dad) had to stay at the school and slowly get a little further away.

I remember it like it was yesterday but it was 10 years ago. Felt like my best friend was leaving me..lol. It was only for 2 1/2 hours and I stayed outside the whole time. All the other moms were like, "Come..lets go get some coffee". I was like..uh, um..no thanks! I'll just wait here. lol

Absolutely. My daughter didn't cry at all - she was very ready & eager to start school but I cried and cried - for days.

Sure did!! I even followed the school bus (in my car) and watched him walk in. He was excited to start school but I was sobbing all over the place!

Big pity party. And he cried too when I got back in the car I looked down and there were tears on my pants from him,. He told me about 2 months later that he did not cry tears from his eyes anymore but he cried them from his heart when he got on the bus. Another pity party.
