Try looking for a CHI on ebay if you get lucky you could find one for under $50 bucks. It is the best straightening iron.

Also there is a drugstore Revlon with a "comb" like feature that actually works pretty darn good. I have a Tourmaline and a CHI, both are over 200 bucks...and I actually believe the Revlon was got the job done. Besides, the comb feature really helps straight hair out and keep its shape without getting too flat. I would recommend staying with a ceramic iron rather than the gold plate/metal types however. Ceramic seems to lock moisture into the hair for a smooth, soft finish.

Go to a Sally's beauty supply. They sell to the public and have salon quality products. If a salon gets you a flat iron it can be expensive. Hot tools makes some that are good for under $50, but you may have problems getting one of those . The ones at Sallys will be great and I know you can get one in your price range. Look for a ceramic one with different heat settings and one about 2 inches wide. The ones sold at Walmart and drugstores just don't get hot enough. I know because I've bought them for home and I don't have course or super curly hair and they don't get mine straight enough. Good Luck!

Ince you want one less than $50 i'll have to go with wet to straight. You dont have to have it wet if you dont want to damage it too much.
