I guess 3 days stay doesn't mean 3 continuous days. So it is possible to leave again on a Monday.

He was sooooo drunk he forgot the order of the days of the week, therefore Friday then became Monday (Saturday became Wednesday, Tuesday became Friday etc.), and he stayed three days to sober up, which in an uninebriated person's mind it was then Monday. SO technicaly it was Monday... to him. And then Monday again.
Yes I know its a stretch.
