That Mormons believe that they have to baptise themselves in your dead relatives names because they need to be baptised in the true religion to go to heaven where they can then be converted into Mormons.
Also that they have been sued by numerous religous sect for doing just that namely the Jewish faith has sued because they were baptising themselves in Jews names that were killed in the holocost to save their souls, like they have that type of power.
If yoru Mormon save your arguements. I think it is a bunch of lies.

You know what? I've seen you and others (seem to be the same ones) post half-truths and misconceptions here for awhile, but I have not seen any of you post your beliefs or ideologies. Would it not be time better spent to study and live your religion/philosophies? But then again, you guys posting this stuff helps strengthen my resolve to live my best, and to do my research, and it gives me good practice in my logical fallacies department (both to point them out and to take care not to use them) and it gives me a chance to develop and expand my knowledge and my hobby of apologetics. There are other reasons I'm glad you post your comments, but the cons definitely outweigh the pros.

Not me. Honestly, they're just doing what they see to be best. It has the same purpose but is a lot less annoying than other religions which go around trying to convert people. I don't the Mormons are right, but it's not doing anyone else any harm, either. And on the off-chance that they ARE right, we should be grateful for their efforts. Also, perhaps you should listen to what they say about it. It's really very intolerant to refuse to even allow them to defend or explain themselves. And then labeling it all as lies before you even hear what they have to say! Stop being so prejudiced and start using some sense. If you're right and they're wrong, then you ought to be able to point out the flaws in their arguments. It would certainly be a lot more effective than simply asserting that it's all lies.

Well, you've been misinformed. So I'm going to give you some information direct from the source, which is where you should be getting your information before you rant and rave about lies. Visit www.lds.org for the correct information about the LDS church.

We believe in baptism for the remission of sins
And yes, we do baptize for people who have passed away. This doesn't mean that those who have passed on automatically become Mormon or anything... they can choose to deny it, or they can choose to accept it.

I've grown up in the "Mormon" church, and I love it. I'm confused as to how you get offended over baptisms for the dead? If it's false as you believe, it can't affect them in any way. And if it's true, wouldn't you want them to have a second chance? I'm sorry that you did get or are offended, but that is our belief and practice.

I agree. Mormonism is a false religion. Joseph Smith was a sham.

Its part of their tradition. I don't worry about it. It really doesn't do anything or have any power. Its just part of their belief system.
