New England is a great place to live because you can be in the city, mountains or on the beach in a matter of hours. You can ski, surf and hike and shop. The states are smaller and you can go from state to state in a matter of hours. There is a lot to do in New England. I also like the changes in seasons. Boston is a great place and Rhode Island is beautiful also. Connecticut is very pretty but expensive.

I like it ,I live in Connecticut, nice to live near the shore. + get to see all the seasons. all the buildings and homes, roads, etc are from different eras, so nothing looks the same, kinda like old England, get it. You can choose very populated areas, like Boston (assuming you can afford it), but drive 40 minutes and be in tranquil countryside fishing, hunting, skiing, hiking, boating, Overall people are well educated, lower crime etc... higher income.

If not where? I Liked the phoenix area when I stayed 4 work, not downtown of course

It all depends on where in New England, and what you like to do or not do.
