The five points of Calvinism, which can be remembered by the English acronym TULIP are:

Total depravity
Unconditional election
Limited atonement
Irresistable Grace
Perseverance of the saints

He believed only the "predestined" were going to go to Heaven.

John and Charles Wesley believed in personal salvation by faith, which was followed by another, on God's grace "free in all, and free for all."

Though his understanding of both justification and the assurance matured, He never stopped preaching the importance of faith for salvation and the witness of God's Spirit with the spirit of the believer that they were, indeed, a child of God.
