I work in a health care profession and wear latex gloves all day. I am recently engaged and absolutly love my diamond ring and don't want to take it off during the day. Someone once told me that the latex eventually (overtime) affects the clarity of the diamond perminantly. I can't find any evidence to support this.....can anyone be of any help please?!

I found nothing to support your concern, either. Unless it would be the fact that you hand may sweat and cause to diamond to get dirty.
If you decide to call a jeweler, let me kow what you find out.

I wouldn't think the latex in the gloves would damage the diamond, however, I do have to wonder about the setting of the diamond tearing a hole in the gloves--which is a health care no-no. Why not put your engagement ring on a simple chain during the day and wear as a necklace? I know how you feel though, when I first got engaged, I didn't want to take my ring off for anything either...then reality hit hard and I realized it just wasn't practical (I was a dental hygienist) to wear it.

I have been in the food business for 17 years and we have to wear all kinds of gloves (depending on the task), and the only thing I can guarantee you is that it will help protect the safety of your ring.
Nothing will make your ring loose it's value accept damage and wear and tear ( most commonly afflicted by a harder stone).
Rest assured your diamond is safe.

The only thing that can damage a diamond is another diamond. Ask a jeweler.

I doubt so.
My friend also wears gloves everyday during work (we are nurses too), but yet, her diamond is still sparkling clear.
