If your cat has allergies, take the cat to the vet, usually they will give your cat a benadryl shot - the visit is more expensive than the shot itself..... the most common allergy in cats is actually from fleas.... start a monthly regimen of frontline top spot or frontline plus.

I would not suggest giving your pet human drugs, because the dosage will be wrong, and you could end up causing harm to your cat. However, you CAN use regular dandruff shampoo (head and shoulders, pert plus, or generic) instead of buying expensive shampoos....... these are not harmful to your cat, and will kill fleas, also. My vet recommends regular head and shoulders or the generic head and shoulders.

Benadryl can be used on pets (including cats). However, self-medicating OTC (over the counter) drugs for a pet can be toxic, so you should always consult a vet before doing so. Our vet tried to sell us an expensive allergy medication for our cat, but Benadryl worked just fine for us.

Benedryl CAN be given to cats, but it does not work the same way it does in people. It does not stop the cat from itching. You may have a flea problem!! Try treating for that first and then go from there. You may end up seeing a vet for help!!!

Yes. benadryl is one of the VERY FEW human medicines that one can give.. I would recommend a half a benadryl in the morning and half at night and repeat it the next day.

NO! Pets should NOT be given human drugs...try bathing him in cat shampoo and rinse well...or contact a vet for something designed for feline allergies. Human meds often have opposite or even fatal effects on pets

Don't give any pet anything without being prescribed or okayed by your vet. Consult your vet for advice and the proper medication. Perhaps it's not really allergies-you need to figure out the diagnosis before you can treat it.

Absolutely not! Never give your cat people medication unless a vet specifically tells you to do so. Most people medication is lethal for cats.

How do you know it's allergies? Could be fleas or something else.

See a vet first

Please do NOT give any human medications to your cat. Many of the things we have around the house for our ailments can be absolutely DEADLY for a cat.

The cat's liver is extremely sensitive and cannot process toxins well.

Only if you have permission from a veterinarian. Please.
