Unfortunately that's what sells now. When I was young I used to go there to get a lot of different little projects (like a kit to make a radio or some kind of electronic). But I guess hobbies and crafts are a thing of the past. People use their spare time online, and on their smart phones now. No kid wants to actually put together their own remote control mini plane, they want it already assembled and ready to go.

HELL YES!! The fact that they pay their reps on commission says something. It's also been my experience that "radio shack" brand products are shoddy, overpriced and unreliable. If you're like me and a techie/electronic freak, try going to the websites for component (I.C., capacitor, etc.) makers and ask them for samples. While a student at ITT, I learned that they'll send samples for many of their products. Sadly, "Rat Shack" is usually the only place to find the more basic components for the do it yerself electronics weenie.

They dont really have anything useful unless your building a radio but now you can buy a new radio so cheap no point in building your own anymore.

Yes I do, I have been in there a number of times looking for a certain adapter or whatever and they have never had what im looking for.

Used to work for them for all of three months...yeah they SUCK!!! Both as a retailer and an employer.
