My dad and I danced to "Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton. I think it's appropriate for a sister/brother dance. :)

I say stick with the butterfly kisses. It is what you wanted, and your dad will be with you anyhow. I am sorry that you have lost your dad. It is ok to still keep him a part of that special day for you. When it comes time for the father daughter dance, you simply make an announcement to all, that your dad cannot be with you physically, so your brother is here, and this dance is still for your dad. I don't think it would be inappropriate at all. It depends on how close of a family you have, and how close you were to your dad. For me??? If I were in your shoes, I would want everyone to know that my dad was still with me, even if only in spirit.

If I were you as a tribute to your father, I would play his wedding song. And dance it with your brother. I think it would give good meaning with the day.

How about "Just The Way You Are" by Billy Joel. My fiance and I are getting married next May 20/07. My ladies father is deceased also and so this is her selection with her brother. Or else maybe "Tiny Dancer" by Elton John. Best of luck in your wedding.

Fleetwood Mac's Landslide. I danced with my dad to that song at my wedding, but it would be appropriate with a brother too. here is a link to a website that has song suggestions w/ lyrics for just about every part of a wedding ceremony/reception. Congrats and good luck!

My father passed away when I was 12.
My fiance and I are going to dance in honor of him to
Luther Vandross "Dance with my Father."
Also I am going to have a table with a memorial candle, flowers and picture of him on display.

Perhaps your brother has a song he might like or you might try an older standard like Eidelweiss or a newer one like REMs Shiney Happy People(I don't know if that is the title or just the refrain...)

Natasha, funny you asked this cuz I was just thinking about that very question. The one song that still sticks with me is an old favorite though... "The Hawaian Wedding Song" with Elvis singing.

How can you be talking about marriage with your Boyfriend, when just yesterday, you were talking about haveing feelings for another guy? You need to wait to talk about marriage. Don't worry about the song for now.
