Almost definitely not. The only issue is due to the presence of uncooked eggs. People used to eat raw eggs a lot before everyone realized you could get sick. Now it is just people being paranoid. You can literally eat raw ground beef and you will probably not get sick. But the risk is there. For what you say? Possibly E.coli or other bacterial things. All treatable however. You'll just get diarrhea and worse-case a visit to the ER. If you have insurance, eat the cookie dough. It's delicious. I always eat it. If you don't have insurance, don't eat it. And get insurance. Stop being a burden on society, I don't want to pay for you to do stupid risky things. LOL. Good luck.

There is a slight chance you can get salmonella from the eggs. This is rare and never has stopped anyone from eating cake batter or cookie dough. So if you want to continue to eat both go for it, there is a very slim chance something will happen.

Salmonella is on the rise due to the processing of eggs being done as is is currently. It can be passed in raw cookie dough.

If it has raw eggs that have not be treated to kill bacteria you run a risk of getting infected with salmonella which is a painful diarrhea type illness that lasts a few days and usually does not cause serious problems, but if the old or very young get a bad case of salmonella food poisoning like this it could be deadly if the proper care is not provided in a hospital.

I used to eat it all the time and I never did. I think people say that because it has raw eggs in it and you can get salmonella by eating raw eggs, but the cookie dough has such a little amount in it that I don't think a little bit would ever hurt you.

Like anything else if you abusively eat it yes. But if it is is small portions you could eat it everyday and it do nothing to you.

Hell my husband eats it all the time, (usually it is one cookie for the sheet one for him) he also eats raw pizza dough and raw biscuits. So you can see why he is rarely ever in the kitchen when i cook dinner, only half of it would make it to the table.

You can get salmonella poisoning if you use raw contaminated eggs. I eat all the cookie dough I want because my cookies are vegan! Salmonella can be deadly to kids/elderly and the immune compromise. Don't drink homemade eggnog either. It's not the stomach flu, it's foooood poisoning.

Not really, the reason that they say that is because most cookie dough has raw eggs in it. But they make cookie dough ice cream and that doesn't make you sick

I eat raw eggs all the time.

I have bigger things to worry about than raw eggs.

The theory is that modern eggs contain salmonella because of this cruel thing that they do to chickens, call "forced molting" in order to increase their egg production. So recipes that call for uncooked eggs in the final product will usually specify organic eggs because they don't do that to the chickens.

1. If the dough contains raw eggs, and the eggs have salmonella, you could get sick.
2. If the dough has been sitting out, and has dairy products in it and they are turning rancid, you could get sick.
