No.
Because condoms have fail rates.
You are better off using condoms
and staying in a monogamous relationship.
Watch yourself for signs of jaundice or liver problems.

you should always wear a condom when your having sex if you are not in a committed relationship.
as far as someone having HCV? the chances of getting it through sex are very little .06%. This percent is so low given how many are infected (millions in the entire world) that scientists aren't sure if this figure is correct. It probably is more like household exsposure, ie. sharing a toothbrush or razor, or cutting yourself with an object that had hcv infected blood on it.
This would probably cut the .06% of probable transmission via sexual intercourse into half (.03%).
HCV is a blood to blood transmission only. HCV corpuscles are found in semen and vaginal fluid, but they are not transmittable.
I have never given anyone HCV in a long term relationship (or the few short ones i've had) and now i know there is no chance now, since i have a svr going on 5 years now, that means the virus is dead and unable to transfer active cells to another had a blood to blood transmission occur.
nonetheless, if you aren't committed, i would stick with the condom.
as for the first poster to your question, the signs of HCV are very slow to appear, sometimes taking 8 years to a decade. most do not have acute HCV, but the acute infections are more likely due to sharing drugs and having multiple sex partners along with a fragile immune system. Acute HCV is when your skin turns yellow and you are very ill. In 85% I would guestimate about 75% don't know they have HCV, but do have symptoms that are misdiagnosed as individual diseases.
Again, more than likely you will not have any noticable signs of infection other than maybe a flu like illness if at all.
For the other person that posted about HCV, he knows nothing of the disease. So please ignore his idiocy on this subject.

Hep C is a blood born infection not a sexually transmitted infections. There is very little chance you would be infected by having sex and if your using a condom there probably is no chance. Talk to your doctor to be sure.

oh my lord...a person with hepatitis C is not "a dead person walking"...how do I know...because I had it...and yes....I said HAD it...most people think that everyone gets it from needles or having multiple sexual partners...or whatever else they might think...truth is...I never used needles for anything illegal...and I have had only 3 sexual partners over my entire life...they say I probably got it from a transfusion from one of my six surgeries...most people who get hepatitis C never ever know how they got it...but mine was detected after I tried to donate blood...here is the advice my doctor gave me about sexual relations when you have hep C....always use protection...but that goes along with everything...universal precautions....you can get it from using a razor that the infected person used....or heaven forbid...the same toothbrush...ewwww....anyways...I got treatment....they said I had it for at least 15 years before I found out...and after a year of treatment...its gone...totally undetectable in my blood...soooo...if you feel comfortable sleeping with someone who has hep C...then do it....but hep C is not a death sentence...hope this helped you....do what you think is best for you....
