This is tough without the use of a curling iron. Hot rollers is a good suggestion but if you can't use an iron I doubt you can use the hot rollers. Try applying some mousse or gel to damp hair and braiding several braids over your head. Make sure they are completely dry before taking them out. Then toussle with your fingers-Don't brush.

Not naturally that will last. Try using a hot curling kick. My sister borrowed one from her friend.

You plug it in. It heats up the curlers, you put them in your hair, let it cool, take them out, finger comb, spray with hairspray and voila! And it lasts. They can be found at Walmart and places like that, they work and are worth the investment, not that expensive either. Why is your mom so against things like irons, its not a big deal. BUT I agree with her DON'T get a perm.

I had my hair done a couple months ago for a wedding. My hair doesn't hold curl for very long either. The girl that did my hair used a butt load of hair spray. After each section she curled, she would spray. My hair was curly all over(was soooo cute)for an entire day.

I have extremely straight hair. so what I do is after I wash and blow dry, I'm spray some hairspray in my hair, brush it out. Put my hair in hot rollers for 20 minutes, and then take them out and go over my hair with a barrel curling iron. Use extra hold hairspray. It always seems to last, and gives me incredible volume.
