Boxers train for endurance not a marathon, the average boxer runs between four to six miles a day depending on the length of his/her next bout. I would run three to four at a brisk pace often turning to run backwards, it helps your quads. The boxer that says he runs anything more than six miles has a very good chance of injury or over training, it's more important to get quality gym time in than running like a mad man

10 miles a day. Marciano used to run 12 and more even when he wasn't in training!

it depends on the fighter, sugar ray robinson used to run backwards so he was able to strenghten his muscles to punch going backwards
