Hi,
I would say that once a week for several hours is not an ordinary experience. I don't think the issue is whether you are "normal" but whether you are experiencing anxiety that is beyond everyday ups and downs, and it sure sounds that way. Your description of an anxiety attack may not feel connected to a specific worry but it is certainly a treatable problem and worth getting some help for. A licensed professional such as a psychologist or a psychiatrist who specializes in anxiety issues should be able to help you work through this either with short-term therapy, meds or some combo. Very treatable but not likely to just go away without help.

I have read some litterature about panic attacks. But they allways seem to have a more scientific approach and that is nothing I need in my struggle to survive those horrible panic attacks. This is a "hand on" and very practical book. I felt it was written to me. I am sure that you are going to feel the same.
Joe Barry writes exactly how I think. The examples are perfectly described. And the method is genius. I recommend this book and thanks Joe Barry for writing it. It changes your life

I dont know about normal. For what reason I might ask? Its just not good for your heart if you get anxious for hours on end. Whatever it is thats making you anxious, find a way to avoid it.

yes, you probably have some sort of anxiety disorder... it would be wise to check with a psychiatric professional... I've experienced the same kind of thing and it's usually related to some sort of triggor... record when these attacks occur and what you were doing when they occurred. There is medication if it is negatively impacting your work/life.

I think you should see your primary care doctor. This sounds like something that is serious.
