You're a jerk. That woman probably gathered up all of her courage to write you a note. You should be feeling flattered, not ripping up her letter and laughing in her face. Not only was it rude, it was immature. I feel sorry for you; she was probably a really nice person, and you didn't even give her a chance.

You know what you are a heartless fool. All people have feelings whether they are black, white, thin or fat. They can be cute or ugly or anything else and they have feelings. If she is not a pretty person or has other problems it probably took all she had to come and tell you that and that is the way you treated her? I hope some day you will fall in love with someone and they treat you the same way you treated that lady and then you will know how it feels.

It takes a lot of courage to tell someone you like them, even in a note. And seriously mister, looks aren't everything. If you really want to get across the message, just tell her, nicely, in a few words. But unless you get to know her, you shouldn't be so rude and unsensitive. No offence to you, everyone handles things differently i suppose. She really should've slapped YOU instead.
