I find Dutch rather easy and am already fluent, but have been told Danish is quite difficult. If anyone knows, how so? Even if not, any tips?

Never tried Danish, but you can use babelfish by altavista to translate into different languages, might give you some idea of what your looking at.

Written Danish is a lot easier than spoken Danish. Spoken Danish is very fast, and drops a lot of consonants, so the words don't really look like they are spelled. Dutch does this too, but not nearly to the same extent.

I haven't studied Danish (yet! :p), but I've heard the pronunciation is the hardest part of it. If you already know Dutch, the grammar of Danish won't be much of a problem. I am currently studying Norwegian and I can understand many things in Danish.

Any tips on what.. you said you already are fluent in Dutch so that language is already conquered. As far as Danish, you can buy CDs but if you have money, it is BY FAR best to go to Copenhagen for two months and enroll in an intensive language school there.

If you are finding Dutch easy, you are a good linguist. As far as learning Danish, do you have anyone that you can converse with?
Are you going to visit there. The best way is to emmerse yourself in a language.

I found this site that is handy.

When my father was trying to learn German he picked up some books on tape. Maybe something like that could help you.

Or if you have a friend or relative keen to learn Danish you can learn with them. Studying with others will help you a lot.
