Im 21 and my little nephew just celebrated his 8th birthday. My aunt wanted me to come help supervise the kids and help serve cake and ice cream. Well since Im a big guy, I have a big appetite. When it was time to serve the Ice Cream Cake, my aunt put me in charge and told me to wait with the cake in the kitchen until she came in to get me. While waiting I kept nibbling and taking small slices of the cake- before I knew it I had eaten the whole cake! When my aunt came in I stood guilty- frosting on my face, and belching. I was also polishing off the last slice and my cheeks were buldging with the cake and ice cream when she walked in. I apologized but my aunt was furious. When my nephew found out what happened he burst into tears and the party was ruined. My aunt told me never to help her out again. I cant help the fact I ate the cake so fast- I wasnt paying attention! How can I get my aunt to forgive me, and also my little nephew?

How on earth could you not notice you had eaten the whole cake???Ok, even if you are that negligent to not be able to pay attention to the amount of food in which you consume did you ever take a moment to acknowledge the fact she might not just be disgusted with the situation not only because you ate the entire cake but were so inconsiderate to even touch the icing before your nephew had the opportunity to blow out the candles? If someone I trusted ruined my son's birthday in such a way nothing they could do would hasten the healing process any, quite the opposite, it would prolong it. My best advice, take this time to consider what you have done and wait for your aunt to be in touch with you when and if she ever wants to again.

I think you have a eating disorder and should get some help ...Partys are very important to children and the cake is the highlight of the party ... I feel that you were very selfish and it will take quite sometime before your nephew will forgive you.

Go to her house when both of them are home. For teh next 10 minutes, act 31, not 21. Sit in the living room. Tell them both that you were greedy and foolish, and you are very sorry for what you did. Go outside on their porch and bring back in the house a boquet of roses and the 'coolest' birthday cake you can find [Baskin Robbins] and present it to both of them. Honey draws more bees than vinegar. It will heal.

That's just plain wrong, did you get kicked in the head by a mule when you were younger, unfortunately they'll probably never forgive you and if they do they will defiantly not forget, you should take your nephew out to a ball game or something memorable and hope he doesn't come for you when he gets older

I come from a family of "healthy eaters ", and we are a big clan, but, this has got to be either a joke, or, a cry for help!!!
No loving Uncle would EVER jeopardize his nephews party with his gluttony, that's just down right wrong....
But, if you TRULY did this horrible deed, I doubt they will be ready to forgive you, not right away (can you blame them??).
I bet they will wait til you acknowledge YOU have a problem and YOU go and seek help for this gluttony, otherwise, your apology is a false plea of regret.
This is a sad tale to share my friend.......and share it I would NOT !!!!!

You could have offered to get him another cake... or actually seemed sincere in your apology.. or here's a good one--Been a good uncle and not eat the little boy's cake! Shame on you! You need to learn self control!

Hell ,Yeah you are dead wrong. You are suppose to be a mature adult, you knew that was not something you should do. If you were that hungry, you should have eaten before you came. I dont know what you could do to rectify that situation, you might want to slow down on what you eat. You did say you are a big boy !

Not only were you immature but you sound like your selfish and don't care about others feelings, I personally would not forgive you lightly, You would have to crawl many miles on hand and knee (an analogy) to prove that you had changed before I would be around you again.
