I'm wanting to know will my salary be lower if I get an associates degree in nursing for now instead of my bachelors. I heard the salary is the same but, the job description is different. Is this true?

A registered nurse is still a registered nurse whether it is with an associates or bachelors degree. In general, the job description and pay will be the same. The bachelors degree will provide you with additional general education and nursing theory, but the BSN nurse has no more clinical training than the ADN nurse. The difference is, some positions outside of bedside nursing may require a bachelors degree. These jobs may include case management or supervisory positions. However, most of them will still consider an RN with experience.

My nursing feiends tell me it's not the same. There are all sorts of scholarships available for nursing, some of them really great. Why not bite the bullet NOW instead of struggling later to return to school after the requirements change. I'll be easier now, I promise.

It really depends on the place you work. Some places may give you more for your bachelors, but not much. There may be more work put on you, but they would pay u more. Like I said, it really depends on the place.
