Neighbor A is a believer but of a different denomination than you.

Neighbor B is a non believer.

Would you treat the non-believer any differently than the believer? Please remember that non believer can cover more than just atheist and agnostic, the neighbor could be Hindu, Buddhist, Pagan, Satanist, etc...

I would treat each neighbor with the same respect they give me. If one is a jerk, I'd treat them as if they were a jerk, whether they were a believer or not. It's not their belief that matters as much as their character.

For once and all, seeing as how we live in AMERICA, we have the right to believe what we want, and as long as it doesn't endanger the lives of others, no one should give a crap about what anyone else believes in. IF THE KKK can still spread their message of hate, and use the Bible as back up (and they do) and it is PROTECTED BY LAW we need to come to grips with some things. Come on people, we have to move past this. If you are so narrow-minded that you have to discriminate against some one because they have a different belief system then you need to do a few things: 1. get a job 2. if you got a job, get a hobby 3. if you got a hobby, get a life 4. if you got a life, then get the heck out of everybody's business, and LIVE IT!

Gosh, this question is truely hard to answer...

My first instinct was to answer that I would treat them the same.
I try not to judge people for their choices (or I like to believe so !), no matter what. This because I truely believe we never know the whole picture of the issue, so it's better to avoid judgements or jumping to conclusions.

Now back to your question : since you mentioned who my believer neighbor could be... well, I guess to the Satanist I wouldn't talk at all ! Why ? Speak no evil ! I am scared ! !

Why should anyone treat any other person of a different faith any differently from anyone else. Respect is the 'key' for all people.

To stand in judgment of another persons beliefs is not your job. If you are a Christian you should know this.

Love people for where they are at.

Jesus ate supper with non-believers & pagans. He even complimented a pagan for his faith and scolded beleivers that think that they are going to be in Heaven . Read-

"Jesus Christ, having noted the faith and righteousness of a Roman centurion, a Pagan, proclaimed:

"Assuredly I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel! And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." (Matthew 8:10-12)"

This makes it is clear that Heaven will contain many who are not Christians, and hell will contain many who are!

So as a Christian you need to decide, if judging others is the right thing to do...

I know less judgemental pagans than Christians.

I would treat them the same until they started to try and change my beliefs either to be a believer or an atheist. Then I would forcefully but poiletly tell them that I do not want to be changed. If they keep going on after that yes I would start to treat them differently.

I guess that depends on if you are a believer. The Bible does tell us to love our neighbor and as a Christian I would want to try very hard to show the 'non-believer' and the believer from the different denomination what a Christian is by the fruits of my life not by the denominational babble that modern day 'relgions' try to portray as 'christian'...I religiously brush my teeth but that really doesn't mean a hill of beans when compared to the life that we are to lead by being a follower of Christ.

No I would not. Everyone is who they are and I don't see a point in trying to change them, nor treat them differently than what I would want to be treated as. The only one of the two that I would treat differently would be the believer, since what you are probably meaning by that is that they are a bible religion, then yes, I would treat them differently, especially if they were trying pushing that crap onto me.

I'd treat them both in a friendly manner. If the non believer had secular views we'd probably be more likely to become close friends since we would share something in common.

In Islam, you should treat your neighbours equally - no partiality between a believer and a non-believer in your neighbourhood.
A hadith says that when anyone from your neighbourhood, whether he is a believer or a non-believer, is hungry and you eat full stomach, you are not a muslim. Neighbourhood is not just one house on your right and one on your left, it is 40 houses on either sides, front and back.

Yes, but I'd treat two believers differently because they are two different people. The important thing is whether or not I'm me around them; whether or not I have integrity. I treat my wife different than my daughter and I treat both of them different than I treat my mother, yet around each of them I am entirely me.

I don't think I would. I think when we talked we probably wouldn't discuss the same things. My christian friends and I talk a lot about what God is doing in our lives and who said what on TBN. (-: I also have non christian friends and a daughter who is wiccan. So, I believe I can answer this question without having to guess what I'd do.
