MISSION, TX — Lizbeth Flores of Mission plans to join Cindy Sheehan’s second anti-war vigil in front of President George W. Bush’s summer vacation home in Crawford, Texas, for three days beginning Monday.

In early July, Flores lost her husband, 27-year-old Army Staff Sgt. Omar D. Flores, during his second tour of Iraq and has been looking for a way to tell the president how she feels about the war and her husband’s death.

Sheehan — who contacted friends of Flores to see if the 25-year-old widow would join this summer’s protest — commanded media attention last summer with her vocal anti-war vigil in front of the president’s vacation home in Crawford.

She publicly blames Bush for the 2004 death of her son in Iraq and has been demanding to meet with him since last August.

Only soldiers can answer that and I'm sure they're not galavanting around on this ridiculous website.

Flores and Sheehan are not speaking on behalf of their husband and son, they are speaking for themselves. The deceased obviously won't get to voice their opinions on the question you are asking now - so it is wrong to take a grieving relatives naturally emotion fueled opinions as a representation of what the fallen may or may not have expressed

The majority of people who join the military would defend their country no matter what. I honestly believe that most civilians if push came to shove would do the same.

As to the war. Despite what the media choses to show Iraqi people are better off. A couple days ago on headline news I heard them claim that the number of Iraqis murdered last month was the highest since Saddam had fallen. This made me wonder what the rate was prior to his capture. Of course the internet being what it is I quickly found out that the murder rate is lower especially if one takes into consideration the minorities Saddam was fond of executing. Just one example of the media showing their true colors.

I am frankly proud of what we are doing in Iraq. Are we perfect? No. Are we going good? Yes. I am leaving again in the next few weeks and look forward to taking the place of the soldiers who are already there.

As to Cindy Sheehan and Lizbeth Flores I have a difficult time believing that anyone would dishonor their loved ones memories in such a way. I realize the anguish they feel over their loss may have pushed them around the bend but their blatant attempts to capitalize on their loved one's deaths turn my stomach.

The president spoke with "the ***** in the ditch" not once, not twice....but three times. I think she's worn out her welcome. Actually Mr. Enlightenment the story means nothing. I am sorry that anyone has to die, especially an American soldier/marine...but Cindy Sheehan has traded on her sons honor for her 15 minutes of fame. Of course she couldn't sell it because his honor is his own. He was ashamed of his mother and yet she used his death to further her own agenda. I don't care what side you are on, that is shameful. So now she wants company. Those without principles get lonely.

NiCoLaS W Everyone has a right to their opinion, even in the military but if you are planning to enlist you damned sure better support any war your country is in. If you can't do that, don't join, you don't belong. As a matter of fact I read your earlier question where you asked about the casualties for each branch of service because you were trying to decide which branch to join, and I don't think you understand what the military is about. Son you just don't have what it takes.

Well, I supported us entering Iraq and I'll continue to support it. WMD wasn't the only reason we went over there in the first place. Does anyone remember 9/11...Patriot Day?!?!? We weren't going to let the terrorists walk all over us. We needed to avenge the deaths of the innocent that were murdered that day.

So, let's look at the accomplishments so far from the war. We've captured Saddam Husein (I will never forget that day!), found numerous WMD, given the Iraqi people a chance for freedom and the right to vote, rebuilt schools and playgrounds. There is more, but this just gives you all an idea of what we've done. None of the press wants to show you these kinds of things though.

I would rather give my life for this country over there than to fight the terrorists here on our land and live to talk about it.

Do you think celebrities can stop the world to speak with every fan, I know this is a different situation but if every president can speak to every person who has lost a brother, sister, father, mother, son or daughter....The world could be in a worse state, he had visited with mrs sheehan once after the sad loss of her son, but as mrs sheehans ex husband has said she had many emotional imbalanced issues prior to this situation. and sadly it pushed her over the edge. He couldnt live with her anymore and he went his way to grieve the loss of their brave son. There son knew the risks, was not forced to go into the military. By saying so , makes his and all the brave soldiers who have been killed protecting our freedom whether for the moment or the future, demeam and lessen there deaths.....She is dragging her sons body through the mud when he should be lying in honor....I lost 2 loved ones in the war and I had my time to mourn. They will always be heros to me and to the 3000 killed in the 9/11 incident.....God Bless our Soldiers and America ,...................PS Let the politicians worry about the politics (since they are all crooked anyway.)

Retired Army, been to Iraq 3 times. Troops in the military will complain regardless of the mission. Funny thing is when I was in Bosnia & Kosovo everybody complained about how Clinton's lame policy and the peace keeping mission there. Never hanything like that when I was in Iraq.

Regarging Sheehan's son, she does not speak for him. He voluntarily enlisted in the Army and had reenlisted in the Army to go to Iraq.

I think Sheehan's son would be embarassed and ashamed of his mother for behaving in such a self promoting manner. He joined the Military on his own. He was a big boy. He swore an oath to protect his country and he did so, giving the ultimate sacrifice. His mother diminishes his sacrifice every time she makes a spectacle of herself. Whatever happened to self-dignity?
If I were Bush I would NEVER meet with her. If I were ME I would never meet with her. I don't know of any WWII widows/mothers, etc. running around the Country, getting themselves on National TV and generally making fools of themselves.

Since when does tow political activists who oppose everything their sons were willing to put their lives on the line for - speak for any soldiers?

The fact of the matter is that the majority of the troops know much more about what is happening in Iraq than you do - and as a result support what we are doing there.

Uhmmm... No matter what means even his decisions. And, for your information, the war was declared by the Senate, not the President. I suggest a refresher in governmental powers, and who has what authorities.

So, basically because of the fact our top to unfastened speech replaced into threatened and defended "a protracted time in the past" means it somewhat is constantly risk-free and untouchable?! incorrect. the folk we are scuffling with in Iraq HATE the concept that us in this united states of america have that top. positioned down your indicators and open your ears. consult with people who've been there, who unquestionably be conscious of what's happening fairly of in step with CNN or another biased crap that for the time of hassle-free terms feeds you what you opt to hearken to. we've enemies, and definite we did create them........ no longer by utilising attempting to launch their united states of america, yet by utilising exercising consultation the very top you declare isn't at stake.
