God is "omnipresent," which means He is everywhere at every moment. For those who deny His existence, how can you be sure? Are you everywhere at this current moment? If you aren't omnipresent, then that means you cannot say without a reasonable doubt that God exists! Jesus is present in my heart, so I have proof that He exists! You can't deny God's existence. You can say that He doesn't exist, but you will never have any proof that He doesn't until you gain omniscience (all-knowing and all-present)! You will never possess that power, so you will never be able to prove God doesn't exist!

Are you arguing the point of Gods existence or Jesus'? You kina flip flopped in there.

"If you aren't omnipresent, then that means you cannot say without a reasonable doubt that God exists!"
--Exactly, and neither can you. So how are you so sure he Does exist?

"Jesus is present in my heart, so I have proof that He exists!"
--Personal experience doesn't prove anything. Your pre-existing belief attributed a meaning to something you felt that may not have meant what you think it did.

"You can say that He doesn't exist, but you will never have any proof that He doesn't ..."
--Exactly, you can't have proof of something that doesn't exist... you cannot proove non-existance. You can however prove something DOES exist, and nobody has done so satisfactoraly with god.

"...until you gain omniscience (all-knowing and all-present)! You will never possess that power, so you will never be able to prove God doesn't exist!"
--I have no idea what's on the surface of pluto... but i'm 100% sure there isn't a single Denny's there... One doesn't need to be omnicient to observe reality.

We've never seen anyone turn a tennis ball inside out without cutting it, but then we haven't been every place in the universe at every moment in the history of the universe, so how do we know that it's never happened?

Logic, that's how. We don't *have* to look everywhere, because we *know* that it's impossible.

Similarly for a god - We don't *have* to look for gods everywhere in the universe in order to prove they don't exist. We just need logic.

All reasoned arguments rely on axioms, i.e. things which we take to be true, but which are not amenable to proof. The most obvious axiom is the validity of reason itself - It is trivially obvious that we can't use a reasoned argument to prove that reason is valid, because we have to presume that reason is valid in order to make any kind of reasoned argument.

I have another axiom, which I'm sure no sane person would dispute: That the order and complexity that we see around us in the natural universe, and particularly in the intricate structure and functions of living organisms, could not possibly just exist fully formed, with no cause, no origin, no precursor of any sort. I can't *prove* that this is the case, but it seems inconceivable to me that anyone would dispute it.

So, the logical consequence of accepting this axiom is that, for the very same reason, it's not possible that the order and complexity of the universe is sourced in an intelligent deity who designed and made the universe and *himself* exists fully formed with no cause, no origin, no precursor of any sort. I don't think any reasonable person would dispute the axiom presented here, and acceptance of the axiom leads to an indisputable proof of the non-existence of an intelligent creator.

Anyone who (against all reason) asserted that the order and complexity we see in the universe *could* indeed exist fully formed with no cause and no origin, in order thereby to save the concept of an uncaused intelligent designer, would find that they had invalidated said designer by making him redundant - i.e. if the order and complexity of the universe could just exist fully formed and uncaused then it would not need (in fact, could not possibly have) a designer.

Either way, the concept of a creator is invalidated.

QED.

You don't have proof - you have belief, you have faith.

One doesn't have to be "omnipresent" to deny the existence of God.

Anyone who chooses to can deny the existance of God.

And just, as you claim, atheists "will never possess the power [and] will never be able to prove God doesn't exist"
Those who do believe "will never possess the power [and] will never be able to prove God DOES exist."

Why do people keep making up rants disguised as arguments????

(and fyi - I believe that God exists. However, I do not have any proof that He does exist. That's why it is called FAITH.)

You mention Jesus so I assume that you're talking about the god of the Bible. The existence of the god of the Bible can be disproved. You claim that one has to search every area of the universe to know that god doesn't exist, which isn't true. Do you have to search every spot of the universe to know there isn't a square circle? Do you have to be omnipresent to know that a perfect circle with corners doesn't exist? No, by definition there is no such thing as a square circle because it's properties contradict itself. This is the same way with the god of the Bible. The god of the Bible has properties that contradict itself, therefore it's impossible for it to exist; no searching is needed.

Let's spin this another way:

You can say that He exists, but you will never have any proof that He does until you gain omniscience (all-knowing and all-present)! You will never possess that power, so you will never be able to prove God exists!

How's that?

Ok, for a lot of people on this site, when they say "God doesn't exist" they are expressing their own beliefs. It is no different then those like you saying "God exists" or "I love/believe in Jesus" or "I'm a Christian!" It's no different...we don't exactly dispute your voicing who you are when you simply say that, only when you post stuff like this to dispute with us about who WE are, so why can't we just say who we are to.

I mean, if it comes down to your just simply not liking reading something like that...grow a tougher skin, it's not that big a deal or going to kill your belief.

P.S. I find it mildly entertaining that you think someone being 'in your heart' is proof that they exist... I mean, if you had killer living balloon animals in your heart and believed they were real, I guess that would be proof they exist to.

And you will never have any proof either. The concept of a God has been popular through the ages because people cannot face the fact that this is all there is. It is also necessary for most people to believe there is a god because if they didn't believe this they probably would not behave.

You'll never be able to prove that he does exist either. The bible isn't everything, it's a work of fiction that's all. And just because you hold something in your heart does not mean that it is proof of it's existance.

Why are you so bent on expecting others to think just like you do?

Some families teach their children to have blind faith.......that they should just accept their religious ideals.

Other families use their own experience and wisdom to instill values in their children.

Some parents are more authoritarian, and others more authoritative....and raise their children to ask questions, not to just accept things.

Whatever you believe, there are others who may differ. i personally am a Unitarian Universalist. UU's have no 'creed', doctrine, or 'rules' about faith. UU's respect and tolerate diversity and always welsome new ideas to be shared. UU is not even really a religion, but more like a lifestyle of tolerance....

Every religion has the same basic elements: fellowship, conscience, and empathy. The "rules" are just different for each..

Everyone thinks they are "right" about their own faith, but only the ignorant ones think that others are "wrong" about their differing faiths.

Isn't it nice to life in a (virtually) free country where such intolerance will NOT be tolerated?

if god is omnipresent, then he will be everywhere and no matter where youa re, he is there. so if you are only in one place and he isnt there, that pretty much disproves god. you know the story about santa(of course, who doesnt)? how he gets to EVERY house on earth in ONE night, well how does god hear and respond to EVERYONE that believes in him in a matter of days, hours, or just minutes? sorry, but so many things about god jsut sound like fairy tails to me...
