We always hear that "The U.S. is governed by "the rule of law" and most Americans are law abiding citizens. So shouldn't we require immigrants, as a minimum requirement for citizenship, to be law abiding? Which means illegal immigrants should be deported?

You are absolutely right. It is as easy as that. It makes me wonder why our Congress does not see it that way.

At least here in Australia the term "Illegal Immigrant" has been adopted by the neo conservatives to describe Assylum Seekers as a means by which to engender fear among the citizens of the country.

Merely arriving in a country for the purposes of seeking assylum is not illegal.

You can only become an illegal immigrant once your application has been declined and you don't leave.

HA!! THIS ONE IS A LAUGHER!!!
what do you mean rule of law??!! The president doesn't even follow law!! He was being sued by Arlen Specter. He got a DUI when he was a nobody. Laura Bush ran a stop sign and KILLED Michael Douglas, her friend. The BUSH TWINS got caught trying to buy alcohol. They commit more crimes than the average american family, and probably the average immigrant family.

Nevermind all the congressman and politicians who break the law, or try to. Duke Cunningham (R-CA), Tom Delay, Scooter Libby, etc. etc. Rule of Law. Ha!

HA HA HA A TRUE LAUGHER! Not to mention the tax dollars it's going to take to deport em all. You're so willing to pay!

The real enemy is AL QUEADA. You're just another american brainwashed by the media hype!!! Your argument is so flawed.

Well said. BUT you will get those Bleeding hearts that will say All they wanna do is support there poor family. I'm not 100% sure but I don't believe there's any exceptions to the law that say you get a Free Pass if all you wanna do is feed your family. If there is are Drug smugglers allowed to smuggle drugs if they use there profits to simply feed there starving families.

As long as American companies illegally recruit and hire illegal workers and American politicians illegally protect and take money from these companies going after the illegal worker alone is hypocritical.

If you check the rules for immigration into the country, we do have guidelines on criminal records........ so yes, they should be deported.

The immigrant-bashing bigots have to be confronted, openly and loudly, each and every time they rear their heads.
