I'm a sophomore in hich school and have no idea about this. I've never had an actual boyfriend before...so i lack experience. BUT- am i really far behind? or do you think this is normal?

My friends treat dating like it's a normal thing for high schoolers. But I have never dated.

I'm scared that because I am already half way through high school, I'm really behind. What do you think?

You have got to move at your own pace and date when YOU are ready, and one day you will be. Don't be intimidated by what your peers are doing/thinking. Good luck!

I know, I know this probably isn't very nice to say but you gave me a total lift in my self esteem. i am in 8th grade and have never had a BF. I was about to write the same question and then Ur's came up. Now i realise that not every girl has a BF by age 13. I don't think you are behind. If u plan on going to college they have quite a selection there. Don't worry you'll find the right guy soon enough. Good luck!

I think it is precious. You are so lucky to be able to start fresh at an mature appropiate age. YOu probaly will do much better in your relationships then your friends ever did. Keep hold to your maturity, and don't let some smart *** guy intinmidate you into uncomfortable sexercises. good luck, I don't think it is really all that normal these days, but I sure hope you can be the start of a new phase where people get an education and maturity before there spirits are broken at to young an age and they turn to alcohol or/and drugs. seriously , good luck to you dear.

There is no rush to date, you have your whole life ahead of you. I know that sounds like what every adult tells you but it is true.

It's better to wait and date when you find someone you really like rather than just dating for the sake of dating and being like "everyone else".

Dating is about emotions and all the jubbly feelings you feel when you are around someone you like. You'll know when you are ready to date because you will have those feelings.

You are never behind when it comes to dating, it's not a race, it's a very enjoyable fun aspect of life.

I totally know how you feel...I'm a junior in high school and havent ever had a boyfriend. I always feel like I'm left behind or I'm some kind of mutant b/c all of my friends have or have had boyfriends. But when I really think about it, I havent really been ready for a boyfriend, call me chicken or old fashioned, but i dont ask guys out-thats their job! Anyways, I'm sure if you think about it you havent been ready too. I f you wanna chat some more, IM or email me! Best wishes! :)

I didn't start dating until I was 17. I think it really depends on the person and the unbringing of the child. My parent's didn't want me to date until I was 18 and out of high school, but they let me anyway. Don't sweat it... believe me there is plenty of time for that.

You are not behind. I believe you probably are at just the right age to start dating.

Shrugs you just haven't met anyone that perked your interest yet. Don't stress it. Less you want to be a little hoochie mama like most of the HS girls these days.

I think when you find someone you really want to go out with then you should go. Dating isn't a contest. You don't want to end up going out with just anybody and having him be someone who doesn't treat you right.
