NO PERVS Please! I don't mean like regarding the sexual abuse, but instead, like "I'm a priest, I have a sermon to prepare to help my flock get to Heaven, but first I have to molest this child." I mean, do you think they know they are evil and enjoy deceiving congregations? Do they think they are going to hell?

They are priest, they can do what ever they want. Ours is a drunk. And you know why they do what ever they want, because people are so ignorant, that they forgive him because they want to get into heaven. A heaven that everybody's local priest doesn't believe in.

As a Catholic studying to become a priest, we are inevitably affected by the scandal. One thing that the seminary is doing now to prevent such a thing from happening again is better screening for candidates for the priesthood, including psychological testing and programs to make seminarians more healthy, well-rounded members of society. This wasn't done 20, 30, or 40 years ago. Back then, becoming a priest was almost expected of some people, and was a position of power. People could not only enter the priesthood in pursuit of power, but to mask their own problems behind the collar. Thus, people who needed serious help escaped detection until it was too late. The standards and practices nowadays are such that another scandal would not happen. This is not to say that the present system is perfect, but we are making leaps and bounds.
It is hard to say what such a sick individual would be thinking, but he is most certainly not happy about it. He knows that he shouldn't be doing what he's doing, but he does it anyway because of his psychological state. It is quite sick, but it is also quite sad.

I think that any pedophile that molests children is sick. And it is even more sick that a person "of the cloth" cannot learn to watch his urges.
I know that the Bible teaches that the sexually immoral will not be going to heaven, so unless they truly repent they will not be going to heaven.
I guess what I'm saying is that I have no idea what goes through their minds. But I do know that anyone who hurts a child, God is pretty unhappy with.
But I also want to state that the vast majority of priests would not do this. It's unfortunate that not only has this happened, but it has created a black eye on the church.

When the most DEVOTE Christian man or Minster sees a nice rack on a girl his eyes pop out.
Reason fails you at that point.
Especially if the Girl smiles back at you.
Even a 30 year old woman can be putty in a man's hands if he's the right man.
