I don't think that this is an issue. You can get used books for a lot cheaper price than the new books. There are a few drawbacks on this. One, there may be writing in the book or it is beat up. Two, it may be an older edition. Three, some people may get concerned with getting other people's germs. Overall, I do think it is a good idea to buy used. Hope this helps.

Absolutely not. Actually the used book may already be highlighted for you. Still read everything though to be safe. The person before could have highlighted the wrong stuff. But usually a used book is just as good as a new one. And it cost less. A plus!!!

You can't go wrong buying used textbooks. It may be used, but the bookstore makes sure it still in decent and usable condition. Plus, you might get lucky and have the previous owners notes written in the margin!

No. Used books are cheaper. As long as they;re not totally falling apart and are written all over, then they're fine.

I think that's a really smart idea at the prices these days. And, after you're done, you can sell them back! Not going to use them again, are you?

I purchased used textbooks whenever I could. They are a lot cheaper. However, always beware of answers written in textbooks, they may not be right.

I went with used for any non-major classes, but I usually got new if the class was in my major, because I know I'd be keeping it for a reference.

As long as all the pages are there, they are fairly clean, and at a nice little cheap price!
