I, like many people I have met in hospital, "cut". What do you want to know ? Do you cut or are you thinking about it. It is an urge, a compulsion, a need that usually strikes when you are at your lowest point. It is much better than suicide cos at least you're still alive. If you are only thinking about it - don't do it. It becomes difficult to explain later in life, especially for a woman. And long sleeves in summer are really uncomfortable. Talk to someone. Contact one of those helplines, anonymously if you want.

Cutting oneself can be common for some and a serious sign that you need to find help. It can be a way to release pain, especially emotional pain. With serve depression a person experiences great pain to the point, ironically, of numbness. One might cut themselves to "feel" something while at the same time expressing or releasing the emotional pain felt inside through a physical way. Please try to find someone that you trust that you can talk to and can help you. I know that things can look hopeless at times but with the right help you can get through anything. Be strong and remember to love yourself. Your are worth it. No one deserves to have to go through this and certainly you do not have to go through this alone. Good luck.

i used to cut myself and its the thing i regret most in my life and Ive done some bad things. if you cut you know what i mean if not i do not advise you to start because it will eventually catch up to you and mess things up. i was the starting linebacker on the JV football team at my school had a loving girlfriend i was a good student....i wasn't a teachers pet but my teachers really liked me....then 1 day it all changed i was really down and i cut myself and i wish i could take it back sooooo bad.....i lost sooo much because of it....it changes you emotionally because after you start you dont feel like you....you feel like someone has taken all the fun and joy from you because the nice feeling eventually goes away...well i lost my spot on the football team(not just as a starter but im not even on the team anymore) because my coach noticed i was cutting and he figured that football wouldnt be healthy with me cutting because i might faint and pass out and all that good stuff....my girlfriend left me because she didnt feel safe with me because what if i would hurt myself cutting and she needed me but im stuck in the hospital? my grades slipped and i had to redo my 9th grade year because i only got 1.5 credits my teachers never looked at me the same way and it just sucks so if you ever need to talk to someone with 1st hand experience email me at briannorris15@yahoo.com and i will try to help you

no, I have read about this though. I have also spoken to friends who have done that. It's not your fault. You just need to seek help.
