You had been married for....say 30 years, and you were going to die of cancer, yes there is a 100% change you will die, and your spouse finally gets up the courage to ask you...would you mind if I saw someone else once you were gone (dead)? What would you say?

I would hope that my spouse wouldn't have to ask..........because I would have already told him that I don't want him to be lonely and to find happiness. It would mean to me that our love was good and didn't make my spouse not want to love again. Honestly, that is what I have said to mine if something should ever happen to me.

Yes. I would want them to be happy in my absence. It might break my heart in the afterlife, because I would prefer they stay in love with me and there not be any else they love but me, but because of my love for him I would rather he be happy and me suffer than the other way around. Thats what love does to you.

I'd say I don't give a sh-t...I'll be dead! Why the hell would anyone care? How selfish would that be to not want your partner to be happy and to stop living?

i would without a doubt want my partner to be happy. this is something i would actually bring up. i would maybe even try to set them up from the other side if it is possible. i would also hope that if i was in the other position that my partner would also accept that i would maybe want to find a new partner.

I would have brought it up if I was the sick person. After all you do love her. Don't you want her to be happy. That means finding another love. She will always love you though. I always think of my dog who passed away. She was great.
